Might be a far stretch, but does anyone have a genuine caseback in hand of a 6610/1016 model? I'd like to know the outside diameter and inside diameter. I found a producer of impact stamps that can create stamps in the size and font of the original texts. With the inside diameter of a genuine case, I can calculate the exact positioning and size of the fonts. Lol

That sounds amazing and I want in! I'd like to foolishly assume similar sized cases used the same stamps?
I know certain models have asymmetric numbers on the reference number stamp so it makes me want to think the main portion was the same across many. It's only a theory, but different variants of the same movement should have similar casebacks, no?

Would a 1969 1016 have a 1520 variant like a 1969 1675? Again, just a thought if no one has that reference on hand. Someone else might know for sure and have an example of the same size.

Likely yes. There are some similarities font wise, the 1's are different for example. Don't get too excited, I'm at the very early planning phase of this currently.
The first step will be to contact my illustrator to make a 1:1 vector/template of the inside caseback.
The factory making the impact stamps uses that vector to produce the stamps.
Cost will be another factor. I have used this factory to create one custom stamp before, of a logo, and it was quite pricey for one stamp (47 usd shipped)

So I'm really just thinking/planning at this point.

How would that work?
Place the stamp and hammer?

47$ shipped I would pay without blinking for something like this.

Even if we buy bulk, when you factor in the last mile individual shipping, it will be around that anyway

Thats for one stamp mate, you'll need a stamp for each letter/number.
Yes impact stamps is place the stamp and hammer once, not easy at all to get it nicely aligned, its an art form in itself :)
Chassis numbers for oldtimer cars are impact stamped, for example. Hence my experience with them *cough*

Maybe and just maybe, I could get a large stamp made with the arch and letters aligned consequently. So one impact would stamp the whole Rolex S A arched text, for example. But I'm not sure if that's possible for the factory, and it would not be the exact same way Rolex did it originally, I think they used a separate stamp for each letter given the inconsistency in placement/stamp sometimes.
