lefty = left handed people = wear on the right .

destro = wear on the right (too).

Lefty/destro= crown/pushers/cg on the left side of the case.

Normal watches (wear on left wrist and with the crown/pushers/cg on the right side) aren't called anything I think... All "normal" watches supposed to be made for wearing on left wrist.

Hi guys. Recently I have begun to love the 243, but I have heard it is discontinued.
From what I understand, the 243 is almost the same as the 24 but using the 1950 case. Therefore I think that I will buy a 24 instead. (I suspect the 1950 case will look to big anyway)

What is the best currently made 24? DSN? I really don't want a horrible blue AR, and it needs to have a thick date font.

PAM243 and PAM024 have different cases shape, 243 uses the fiddy shaped case while the 024 uses case similar to a 111 or 005.

Robert @ Time4Direct has a nice PAM024 with Asian21J movt, I had to remove the AR though as I find the blue hue too strong.

And i also got the PAM243 from Robert, he had these last year and might have ran out of stock.

Also check Lay for the 243.
They are on his site, but I dont know about his stock levels:

http://www.replicamake88.com/products/PM24301-PAM-243-SUBMERSIBLE-1000M-ASIAN-7750-28800BPH-BLACK

Here is my 243, just to show it off again :)

I checked with him and he is out of stock.

The 243 is awesome, but I think I need to buy something right now to calm down and not be so stressed over missing the sale. The 24 would be perfect as consolation while looking for the 243 :D

Since the case is different I might even keep it even when I find the 243

Played with a gen 24L today, must say I do like it a tiny bit more than the 25. However, I am still in love with my 25a franken!

Toro Bravo, A TD on a few other sites offers this: >>>

"Sort of", 024 ....:
IMG_0010.jpg

It has a brushed rather than polished case, and the caseback is the type from the 199, but at $79.00, it's a very solid watch from the "H" factory...
Here it is on a "Suppaparts" mesh bracelet I originally bought for my Plopper, but now prefer it on my 24...:

BTW, I prefer the brushed case style over the highly polished one on a watch designed as a "divers tool" model....
But I'm not a perfectionist like many folks here!!:wub:

Not the "a" version. I believe that some other, later, 24 versions do. Look at the 24L pictured a few post back (#131) and that also doesn't have the black indices on the bezel (or is that the 25 - as it has the brushed case, maybe it is???). I preferred the indices-less (?) models. I think of these as the HG Wells or Jules Verne version of this watch as they remind me of the porthole of a 19th century steamer.

But being the klutz I am, I'd be spending more time polishing the scratches out than wearing it....:wub:

Coming from long line of clumsy people myself I can relate to that! But then again I can imagine that this watch would also look very good aged. Many of the 'forced aging' outcomes I've seen on rep sites are very attractive. Although I want the polished bits to look polished on my boat, I wouldn't mind a submersible watch looking like its spent a lot of time under water.
