Hooligan: what was it about H-U's photo that made you know it was a genuine? Was it a single thing or several?
A handful of things.
The "15", "30" and "45" on the bezel looks sharper and uses a different font on the gen watches.
The inside cut-out area of the gen CGs always have sharper corners than any rep CGs than I've ever seen. The rep CGs always have corners that are a little too rounded off.
The rep dial has "A"s with slightly low cross bars compared to the gen. Not as bad most of the low-bar "A"s, but they're not as high as the gen.

Well, keep in mind any of those things are much harder to spot when you don't have gen/rep pics side by side to look at.

Thats a friggin relief then! For a moment I thought I had to dump my collection of PAM reps.

The A-C Series style 024 reps that CC and I posted (polished bezel, no hash marks between the 12 o'clock pearl and the 15 min marker) are discontinued and very difficult to find. There are some decent modern 024 reps, though. Alviando posted a thread about his here in this forum recently...

No polished bezel PAM24A will be available unless you go for the extra and mod it.
The PAM24 that most of the dealer are offing now are based on D series onwards with brushed bezel and hash marks and it is impossible to buff off the hash marks (had tried it before) as it would mean removing a layer of metal surface.
However, the PAM24 base watch without hash marks is still incorrect but what I understand is the ones without the hash marks are not available anymore. However, you can still try you luck by looking if anyone who is willing to let go.
If you are able to grab hold of one, to convert it into a PAM24A. Here's are the steps
- Polish the bezel
- Remove the metallic rings surrounding the hour markers on the dial
- Relume the dial, pearl and hands with C1+C3 mixture
- Flushed the cannon pin and the original A7750 cannon pin is protruding out too much
- CG pin rework
- The original rep crown is not bad but if you want to better, install a T48 crown
- most importantly, Lello's datewheel with correct and bold font (a must)
Optional,
- Some may think that the cyclop is still not correct. If you are willing to spend, you may want to buy a ultimate PAM199 or 92 can swap the crystal with the cyclop over for higher magnifying power
- Find a rep friendly watchsmith and have it waterproof. Mine for example is tested to 5 ATM. Swimming is no problem

Damn I can't believe you sold it man!!!?? That was one helluva watch!
Hopefully you'll like the Steinhart better than the 024, thats all it matters.

Yeah, guess I may need to get myself a new handle. It's not working out too well for me as you all can see. LOL. Congrats. It's a nice piece with all the right features.
