Santa Claus is about to get me one and he's asking if I prefer the frosted or the steel. I've never seen a frosted ap gen or rep and hence told santa that Ill ask the legends here for advise. Tia for answering I'll put in a good word with santa for you too. He's pleased with me cause I paid a lot for divorce. Also yes I saw the weighted comment on the frosted and I'm wondering what the gen steel weighs and if the thb rep is similar in weight.

Gen steel is correct weight, frosted will be off by about 80g or so as the gen is 18k gold.

This said, get the one which you like the most.

Seems like steel would look better. Also seems like there is rather large and awkward gap between the bezel and case end. Is this gap more than that on a apsf 15500 and is it noticeable on the wrist?

It’s a great looking rep no doubts but especially on the frosted gold version the gap is just too visible for me that it puts me off from buying it.

Of course it’s good enough, considering the price of the watch. It’s obviously a rep but a great looking watch and I am sure it has a lot of presence in real life. I hope you wear it well and enjoy it.

Yeah, thanks, I'll do my best I have an attention span of a 3 year old, so I doubt it will last long in my possession.

The value is definitely there, it's a miracle how far we've come in such a short period of time. I could never dream of such a rep even 5 years ago.

I also try not to obsess so much about tiny flaws, that have to be pointed out to me, and do my best to enjoy the watch as it is. The obsession with details has sucked all the joy out of this hobby for me and I simply don't care so much anymore.

The main problem I have with this watch is the lifestyle context. I won't be wearing it while riding the bus with a Lidl shopping bag in my lap , but nothing in my life matches the level I believe this watch requires.

It's still fun to pretend I'm loaded in front of a mirror though
