I don’t get the point of paying such a premium for a ‘flaw’ that no one notices unless handling the watch and turning it around. There are much more tells on the skeleton movement that I would pay extra to have fixed instead.

To me the lack of second balance wheel is very noticeable at even small angles but everyone values things differently so I totally understand not wanting to quadruple-quintuple your cost for the second balance wheel.

I’d say the missing weights from the free spung balance wheel is a lot more noticeable than a second balance wheel.
I wonder if they’re going to fix the bezel gap is well

thing is, almost none of the general public ever see a gen 15407 up close and know that it has second balance wheel... it's still a great rep even without second balance wheel

This kind of watch, you don't need close inspection. People will just look at you to see if real or not. Honest to god. It's only worn by athletes and rich multi millionaires lol. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I'm double crossing my fingers for a ceramic version!!!

so aps is the same as ZF and they own thb?
APSF and ZF are close but I don't think they're exactly the same, or at least their suppliers are extremely similar. THB is owned by APSF or at least tangentially related somewhat.

The key difference IMO from what I've observed is that APSF can do clone movements, ZF doesn't do shit.

Notice this :

APSF were the bad boys to release clone movements. They did the clone A4302, the Portugesier/Big Pilot movement, now they also did the 15407 semi clone and now this 4401.

ZF rarely or basically never makes any high end clone movements. They stick to well known movements or modify them (i.e 15202 > modified 9015, etc). The closest they did was their Breugrt 7097 which is still a modified movement.

And somehow they always manage to obtain APS movement. ZF 15500 has the 4302.

This is just speculation of course I'm not on the ground or related to any factories, it's just what I've seen.

How about ZF's RM55 cloned movement vs APSF RM55 ?

Don't think either of them made it, it's from Dandong factory
damn.... you know a lot.

Thanks for this, my man!

Remember when APSF released their openworked?
Not only is the movement finishing really bad, but it wasn't a cloned movement like THB's release, correct?

I think they chose to release under sister factories for two reasons :

1) To keep a lower profile
2) To have a "clean" slate with no preconceptions. Also to build hype.

It has happened many times. Look at VSF chosing to release under TEDF or SBF lol

yah, everything is over my head right now. But good to know.

I'm really curious if THB will add the 2nd wheel or if we can send the V2 to @Spongebob or @legend to add the 2 freesprung wheels to it.

Does the free sprung balance wheel get added to the existing movement in the watch or does it get replaced by a movement that has already has two free sprung balance wheels from the workshop/factory?
