But its the shipping service thats in question here, irrespective of whats inside the box they have the same responsibility. My last Puretime watch was delivered in UK by Royal Mail - they dont have the right to open the package and remove the goods just because theyre reps
Yes, I understand. But you are expecting the same kind of after sales service, also in regard of how the merchant handles issues with external logistics, and that's unreasonable and unrealistic.
Don’t get me wrong: I too get annoyed at all the downsides we experience while dealing with transactions in this gray / black market, but how things should be in an ideal world and how they actually are, is more often than not simply not how things are in reality.
And the reason why those things are like they are don't even have to necessarily be because the TDs do not care or wouldn't wish to be able to offer us better service. Almost always, the reason is simply a lack of resources, like time or man-power. I'm sure you would agree that a small (and legal) 5-man operation, that sells products out of a small online shop or on eBay, can't and doesn't offer the same kind of after sales services that Amazon can afford to offer.
Perhaps a small operation like a replica TD simply doesn't have the man power to go after every individual issue that occurs with a shipment? I don't know for sure, but what I know is that all TDs that I have dealt with usually try to cooperate with you in case of an issue as good as they can, but I'm sure there are just limits they'll run into.
The key to understanding this hobby is to understand that you can't expect the service of a large corporation and that you even have to be prepared to take a financial hit once in a while and, most importantly perhaps, that you have to be extremely patient. Like really patient.
Otherwise, this hobby will have too many bitter disappointments waiting for you.
