So now that the TC V2 YM is being delivered and everyone seems to love the watch. What does this do to the value of the factory direct or V1 TC YM?

Joey the wm9 YM is wicked awesome, but I assure you if you try a TC Elabore you'll never go back. Miles ahead in terms of detail and weight.

Theres a difference in the weight?

Would you happen to know the respective weights?

I think the original will drop SLIGHTLY in value as long as TC is still selling the new ones, then i imagine it will go right back to where it was, once he stops offering them........my guess

Thats a good point. The new TC is $650 so I guess the older version could go for $525-$550. Of course that's for stock, any kind of mods would obviously raise the value.

I'm curious about weight also. I will have the FActory direct YM and the YM V2 in a few days to review. I will also have my WM9 so I will see if there is a noticeable weight difference.

Has anyone tested their YM V2 for water resistance yet?

Its water proof by design! put some silicone grease on the tube screw it down, silicone grease the case back screw it down with the proper tool you can get on ebay and go for a swim. Or you can send it to VAC and he will pressure test it for you to 3 atmospheres that's about sixty feet. 1 atmosphere is on land at sea level.

Although I really love this YM I am a little disappointed in TC.
Mine came with a tiny pinprick size fault / damage to the bezel insert. Although it was small it was a shiny bit of damage which when it caught the light it really glared in comparison to the matt finish of the 'platinum' finish.
I emailed TC about it and waited 5 days for his reply saying I could send it off to a modder to fix / polish it out and to let him know if I wanted to go ahead. So far so good.....
I replied same day asking a couple of questions but no reply after 7 days so sent another email asking the same thing and still no reply which is another 9 days. So 16 days, 2 emails and no response.

I'm not 100% sure I would actually get the repair done as I am a little undecided how serious it is / if it could be fixed. I don't expect perfection but I feel it would be an issue if I tried to sell it (very unlikely) on a M2M and didn't disclose it.

I certainly don't want to fall out with TC, I fully hope to get further watches off him in the future.

Dont send him anymore emails he will get back to you, the pits in the bezel have been discussed in the open you should of known it was a possibility. I think it might be in the blog

It's not a pit as such, it's a bit of damage that shines bright silver. I don't think that is what is meant by a pit is it?
Wouldn't a pit still be just about the same colour as the rest of the bezel?
TC didn't try to defend it as a pit.

I wasn't going to send any more emails, just a bit disappointed that I haven't heard anything back in over 2 weeks. I'm not sure I would send it off for repair anyway, can't make up my mind.

I think if TC didn't defend it does that mean he responded back to you? If you can get him to put a new on. Good for you but be prepared to wait. From what I hear there are no spares.

As I said, he responded the first time after 5 days saying I could send it to a modder in the EU for a 'quick polishing job', at his cost and to let him know if I wanted to do this. That was great. I did respond with a couple of questions about this and it is since then it's been 16 days with no response.
I checked again with a loupe and I'm pretty sure it couldn't be described as a pit but I didn't want to put him to any unnecessary expense and one of my questions was wether he felt such a mark could be polished out. Seems to me that it's not polishing that needs doing but roughening somehow but I don't have any idea how they create that type of finish.
I don't want to put TC to any unnecessary expense and I think I've decided it's probably not worth doing but if it's a UK based modder then there is little expense in getting an opinion on it. Just disappointed not to get a reply back.
