Don't forget that there are people who -yes- pass them off as gen... but not SELL them as gen.

You just described the bulk of rep-lovers:
If that intention is not anywhere in the back of our minds, we would all be wearing homages and frequent a different site than this one....

Though I agree 150% that selling a rep as a gen is evil

I know but it does happen and guess how pissed your gonna be when it happens on rep you paid $500 for?? I never believed all the water proof crap anyway its just another tatic to sell you a more expense rep, after all how you gonna know it was tested properly and oiled with swiss lubericants, and blah, blah, blah. You don't and that the point. Dun be a pug, LOL.

Heck yeah. Even gens have waterproof problems sometimes... granted the chances are lower, but there is still a possibility.

I'm lucky my SFSO is a beauty that is waterproof... one might not be so lucky, but that is true even on GENs


Anywho, I won't take my gen PAM near ANY form of water 'cept for the occasional warm soapy water on the kitchen sink.

As for reps, I only do the kitchen sink routine on ones that have been 'proofed'. The others, I won't even attempt the '50 meters dash in the rain'
