So I ordered a DayDate 36 from JTime on July 15. This is my very first Rep purchase after doing lots of research. I sent the payment via wire transfer in CNY. Then on July 17 they sent me an email saying their bank for the international wire is a USD account and they can’t accept payments in CNY. So they said they asked their bank to refund me and once I received the refund I should pay again.

Since then I’ve been checking my bank account daily and no refund. I’ve been asking JTime for status and on July 25 they sent me a screenshot of some webpage written in Chinese and asked me to contact my bank. The screenshot does not include my bank routing number or account number anywhere.

I contacted my bank and they said I need to get confirmation from the sender. I’ve continued to email JTime and now they are not replying at all.

It’s now July 29, 12 days since they said they sent me the refund and still nothing.

I’m so upset and feel like I’ve just lost $404. What a terrible first time experience. What do I do? :(

JTime just keeps telling me to contact my bank. My bank tells me they can’t do anything. This is terrible. I asked JTime to send me the account number they refunded to, so I can make sure there wasn’t a typo. No reply yet.

I would suggest becoming a Supporter or Patron with RWI before crying on your first post. Also let’s say a Gen DD36 is $15k and you “think” you can wear this and pull it off. It’s only $400 dude. What’s all the crying about. I’ve thrown away, forgotten somewhere and gave away several. Perhaps this is not the hobby for you. Have you thought about collecting weepuls?

How is their bank going to refund you money that they can't receive. If they can't receive funds that means they have no funds to return, Take this as a $400.00 learning experience and move on and use only the TD's affiliated with RWI.

Hello and WELCOME to RWI from the official reception desk team!

You are receiving this reply either because you posted in the "New members say hi" section or because I spotted one of your first posts elsewhere. In the latter case, please consider going to the aforementioned section and introduce yourself.

If you haven't already, please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members section (all subsections) as they contain information for newbies and most importantly our forum rules! In particular, please take note of our sales rules, because as a brand new member, you will be —under any circumstances— NOT yet eligible to sell.

A good starting point is this list of resources on RWI:

Also, this please take a look at this sticky thread:

If you need further help, please feel free to contact me or @Feefo!

We're always happy to help, but please allow some time for PM responses as we have lifes outside of RWI!

[Please note that this is NOT an automated message!]

Can't believe nobody asked this yet...
But the OP mentioned several times that Jtime was ghosting him for days on after sending him weird receipts in Chinese and other rather strange sounding things have happened in what seems a charade of banking fail after banking fail.

Talk about an Elephant in the room.

OP, I think there's a fairly high probability that you were not in contact with the real Jtime, but rather that with a fraudulent impostor pretending to be Jtime. Could you please tell us the following to verify (or hopefully disprove) my suspicion:

How did you look up Jtime's details? Via Google?

What web site URL did you use?

Which email addresses allegedly belonging to Jtime did you use?
How many?
Can you please list them all with the exact domain and account name?

Did you use any other mean of comms? Phone numbers for WhatsApp for example? Telegram accounts etc.?

If so, what were they?
Please list in detail.

Not that it will make any difference. Like @mclarendude said, RWI assistance is not retroactive.

Unfortunately, we have newbies popping up all over the site every day, sometimes half a dozen times per day, who only find out here that they never had any contact with the actual TD.

But the OP should know that he dealt with a scammer (in case he in fact so did) and it should also be put on the record.

Hi and welcome 🤗
Since you new here. Let me share you with the first tips. Next time ask the dealer to switch the order to different watch instead of refund.

That's how I always do it ...

But I have yet to order a watch with a scam site. I think that's when that tip becomes worthless. 🫣

I still hope that's not the case in this particular case. Will be interesting to see if there will be any feedback coming that can be used to verify one or the other.

Sounds like a scam, there is a very well done scam website of Jtime which comes up if you Google it :cautious:
The scam site has 20% discount store-wide and prices shown are much cheaper which is a huge red flag

Things like this has to be experienced by doing business internationally and in particular with China.
And JTime is right, most chinese accepts USD in their "bank" and they can't actually accept CNY.

If it's not a scam site and money is in limbo, it'll come back to your bank account within a few days or it won't even transfer at all.

So "doing your research" in this case is mute for the most part.

Think you have access to the TD's contact info when you are a guest browsing the site. I am sure one of the mods would obviously know @eBoy

I just logged out and tried it to be sure (I assumed it).

Yes, most definitely accessible to non-members.
