Sometimes its NOT the watch that gives it away.......Its the wearer.

Just seeing this now... Laughing my ass off. OP is a freaking genius. Running next door to see what other fascinating observations he is sharing.

He's probably been shut down there as well.

I wear my rep in my suit store all the time. I make my living off of people who are "well off," no one has ever said anything about it. The only comment I've gotten on it was from a young guy wearing a really bad Breitling rep.

I bet that King has to much free time.... he might be lurking here as we speak...

I armed security and do bat security too. Not particularly well paying jobs. I tend to wear whatever clothes my lady gets for me. I really couldn't care less. Comes with being in a commited relationship. If I was single I might care a bit more. But I wear custom Wesco boots $980 for the pair. Carry a $1400 kimber .45, usually my pocket knife runs anywhere from $400 - $1,650 depending on whuch custom i choose to carry. I have a few Gen watches and a bunch of reps. My car is an old nissan xterra with peeling paint lol. But my bike is a harley fat bob that cost 17+k It's all what you like and choose to spend you money on. Cars and trucks don't mean shit to me. They're just a way to get around when it's too cold to ride. Clothes cover my ass. The toys are what I like and that's where my cash goes. So if I decided I wanted a Gen 40k watch that bad then I'd get that SOB.

WOW really? $900 for a counterfeit watch? Who pays that and why? I have to give the sellers and makers kudos. They really have the hook in deep. $900....wow. That would buy a really great TAG. or Victorinox

Never found a Auto TAG that is 900
Keeps mentioning hublot is around 5000
I think someone forgot to took some medicine this morning

I've read the whole thread... in short LOL

My opinion is:

We wear illegal counterfeited goods that steal patents and design from their rightful owners and get the under paid labour force of China to build them for us.
We use fuel in our cars that come from corrupt oil companies that don't pay tax.
We read newspapers owned by people like Rupert Murdoch, the most corrupt and evil man in media.
We line the pockets of companies like Apple that also steal designs and get china to build them for us.
We pirate music and films daily from youtube all the way up to torrents.

The only difference between us on RWI is that we have the ability to criticises our hobby, whilst others defend their Apple products till the end of time with no moral ground to stand on. We try to make the best for our dealers and pay direct to them rather than funding some canal street drug lord. We are quite a self critical bunch and we know what we are doing is not morally correct, we accept we can't change it but we make it the best we can for everyone from factory line to consumer. If I was to stop wearing reps I'd also have to trash pretty much all my clothes, gadgets etc as most of them are just replicas of other products... legal or illegal.

In regards to wearing a 30k watch and driving a banger... that's none of your f***ing business to judge. People who judge are simply covering their own insecurity by carefully watching others to level out their flaws by comparison.

If I want to wear my Rollie rep, it makes me happy, if it makes you sad... then how is that my loss? that's your loss... but hey thanks for spending your time thinking about me xoxo

I always find it funny when people who have no interest in auto try to discern what a 'banger' is. Personally I much rather have a 93 Toyota MR2 with some work put into it than waste upwards of 50k on a base Mercedes C-Class. Why? The MR2 will be much more fun to drive. Sure I run the risk of snap-oversteer and wrapping myself around a tree, but ill have fun doing it.

I'm all about buying a cheaper older car and putting some money into it that doesn't make it a banger but you sacrifice the quality of a new luxury car. A new base c class is close to 40k not 50k and they are very nice now. Way better than the new 3 series or A4. I'll stick to my hopped up MINI and piss guys off in corvettes when the get walked.

If you track your car or your an avid racer than that hopped up mini must be a blast. But, the new stingray is quiet the looker, and quality is worlds better than the previous vette. Agreed on the new c-class, quality wise it's way ahead of the a4 and 3 series at the same price. It's more of a mini s-class than a mini e-class.

Although I hadn't read the original post. I like to think that someone like ourselves, who appreciates a quality product (be it rep or gen) would be able to wear any watch they choose because typically that means this person has a great attention to detail, who most likely doesn't look like a bum and probably carries themselves confidently.

I'm exactly the same, I have a gen GMTII and a Mk4 GTI turbo, bought it as a piece of crap and now it's like new! New gearbox, clutch, exhaust system, steering rack, alloy refurb, breaks. etc

People are perplexed at why I'd buy a Ferrari 308/328 over a new Ferrari, they say "It would break down all the time" and I'm like exactly, you put in what you get out. Too many computers between your foot and the engine in the new cars.

Totally agree with you on the MR2!!!

I dont know, it just looks too sporty for me. The interior layout of the 3 series just looks more luxurious to me. Everything in the new c class looks to be sporty. I just dont dig it. The air vents look like jet engines and the screen just looks like it doesnt belong. I dont know i guess we all have our own opinions so to each their own.

But I am sticking to beamers :) Looking forward to seeing the new 5 series which should theoretically be out within the next 2 years.

I have to say though, in the past it was so easy for the high end makers to come out with gorgeous looking cars but as of late - you have mid level priced brands coming out with beautiful models. Just look at the new genesis. This thing looks amazing - i know many wouldn't buy it due to the brand name but none the less, the car looks sick.

Interesting that you think the c class looks sportier than the 3 series, I gather that most would think the opposite as BMW is mostly associated with sportiness when compared to Mercedes, I've had both and its a toss up, which says a lot about the offerings from both brands. It's good that they are so competitive because they're constantly trying to "one up" each other. Except for the new S-class.. In my opinion it's the best car in the world. I see what you mean about the screen on the c-class, it seems like an afterthought but it's growing on me.

And like you said, mid level brands are doing great things, a lot of the American and non-german offerings are becoming great considerations. I hope people don't dismiss the new genesis because of the badge, it's a hell of a car but with options at around 50k it may be hard to sway the German loyalist. Genesis should be its own premium brand separate from Hyundai. Once used models hit the market they'll be a great buy. Getting off topic but I can talk cars all day.

Genesis and Equus are both amazing cars. The new c is much sportier than the outgoing car but BMW will be forced to offer a nicer car that's the way it goes. I love the floating IPad style screen it's working it's way into the whole Benz line up but what Mercedes does everyone else tries to copy. The new s class is the best vehicle offered today. You have A8, 7 series, and the LS and none of them can compare to the S. I mean come on the LS has a plastic dash still!! WTF!! That being said I had no shame hopping out of my MINI in an Armani, brioni, Versace suit with a full gold DDii on the wrist.
