That’s what I was worried about. I might mask it off or just pop the crystal out
If you have experience with installing crystals then by all means, go for it :)

But masking it will do the job 100%, I don't see any difference in AR coating on the 3 subs I've done this, but yeah, masking is a great idea anyway and it's quick and simple

Go for it and let us know :D

I’ll mask it. It’s easy to replace a Seiko SKX crystal if anything goes wrong. No idea about these.
Is stem removal the same as a gen movement?
Sorry for the questions but I’d rather not f*ck it up!

Well, if you fucked this one up, that would be an amazing opportunity to get a gen one anyway 🤣

Yeah, it's the same, you just have to depress that pinhole near stem with pliers or something and that's should be it

Yep pull the stem to the outermost position (I think its hands-setting position on the stem) and then compress the wee button and pull the stem out. Just as gen

Hi, I would like to do this on mine too, without removing the glass, like you did. Can you give me some advice? If you had to dirty the glass, how did you clean it then? Because I used it to polish a bracelet some time ago and to clean it from stains it was a mess

I don't think there is much to clean up, because polishing a rehaut vs bracelet should probably take off way less material and it's already polished finishing (albeit bad).

Just polish all the way around (you'll have to do quite a few passes and press hard, if using cape cod), but after you're done, just use cotton cloth or something to clean up the residue and then wash it with soap until it's clean. It's very easy, the polishing part takes more time and effort (not much, anyway), so I wouldn't worry about it.

So if I dirty the crystal with cape cod while polishing the rehault, nothing would happen to it, like problems with the A/R etc? I don't know if this has happened to you. Thanks again🙂

If you leave the crystal in, then yes you will damage the inner AR

You can mask the crystal, but I do not notice any difference at all and I haven't masked it or anything
