From a buyers perspective 🫣🫣 having pissed off a seller
Back in my noobies days I tried to buy a pam111 ... After a couple of simple questions the deal was done. Discussed payment details etc At this point I asked not to do PayPal f&f due to all the 'Dire" warnings. Nope that was what he wanted. At this point not really thinking, I asked for what's app details.. sent money and couldn't understand why the money was sent straight back. He wasn't comfortable with my actions throughout the whole interaction and felt like I needed to educate myself more, what's app is how done scammers begin He told me. He was friendly enough and explained why he refused to deal with me.but I did piss him off. I wasn't happy but accepted his logic and moved on. I did get my pam111 eventually from another member. I probably left out a couple of details but there you be

I must say that several times in our ongoing conversation, I have thought the same and almost called off our future transaction 😅

The only reason I did not was that you bought a watch from Pom

Watch in like new condition.

TD price 598$ = 530€

Offered for 430 shipped

„Can you do 350? For just 100 more I can get a new one from TD“

Maybe I am a total sucker, but I just pay the asking price. I only PM if I feel it’s fair. Happens that half of the time the seller proactively gives me a discount

100% this /\ /\ /\, if I'm not happy with the price it often turns out no-one else is either, I watched a ZF SkyDweller for a fair while, then the reductions started, when it got down to my estimate I bought it ;)

If it had sold for full asking or more than I was prepared to pay, another one would have come along.

Easy way to piss me off:

Him: can you send me some more pictures?
Me: If you tell me what exactly you want to see, i will try to make some pictures of that details. (I‘m not very talented with photography)
Him: Yeah, just a few more from all sides to compare with an genuine

- is it waterproofed to swim ?

- maybe interested

- i get this for the same price (or cheaper) from (some random guy) on AliExpress or DHGate

Oh Crap

Still can't find my way around

I do not generally sell as I like to keep what I have. But on occasion I've been asked and so I obliged but only reserved sale and with as many photos as possible. I'm probably more worried then the buyer about customs etc. I even say "if you do not like it send it back" but when it lands safely and you see pictures posted here from a happy buyer then I smile as I've made them happy 😁
Sorry for the soppy shit.. a couple of pints does that

I need to make a thread on annoying sellers or bad selling habits too.

The amount of tickets we get because sellers decide to send watches worth thousands on a simple shipping bubble pouch is getting out of hand.

A small box is easy to find. And if it adds a charge to the shipping, that would make it worth more than having to refund $2 or $3k.

To hear this is excruciating to say the least, we've all got boxes around the house. It's just lazy and disrespectful. If you're one of these people, don't bother selling on M2M. In fact, just take your collection down the local charity shop and be done with it. This hobby ain't for you 😂

Truth.

I reuse any box I get. It is very unfair not to.

More seriously, I always pack in the donor watch box, a travel pouch or a crystal case, plus add-in my hallmark Pokemon card.

It makes a safer transport and I feel buyers appreciate the small marks of respect. Frankly, none of us here even bat an eye at a 5€ beer…so I don’t understand some members’ stinginess.

Seriously though — I’ve got a few Gucci shipping boxes I just can’t bring myself to throw away. Not the retail boxes or packaging, but the actual shipping boxes — double-layered, thick cardboard with a laminated interior for water resistance. They’re overbuilt in the best way.

I also picked up about 20 plastic boxes from AliX, mainly for sending parts to watchmakers and modders. I even toss an AirTag in there when I ship — just for peace of mind.

This reminds me of a gen I posted not too long ago.

$795 MSRP

Posted for $400.

Got a PM offer for $275....

I was so gobsmacked that I rekindled my love with the watch.
Now I know why I have never sold any of my watches. My bride can deal with my collection when I am dead.

Before I started selling M2M, I bought a large industrial sized roll of bubble wrap, cling film, packing peanuts, heavy duty duct tape. It cost $50 total. Boxes are free from USPS Priority Mail. I made the money back on the first watch I sold.

I did my research on how to ship watches. I don't ship large/integrated bracelet watches in small boxes where they can get crushed and break the bracelets. You need some space in the box for "crush" space.

Cheaping out on some packaging on a $300 watch is just stupid. Risking reputation on RWI and potential hassle of being banned over $5 of packing lol.

Rep buyers are some of the cheapest people in the world. I guess we can't be suprised, after all, we are buying reps.

To do a „project“ for someone, i received a genuine rolex case , including dial and hands in a bubble envelope lately.
(no tracking, no insurance)

what can i say:
My facial expression the moment i recognized what was in that envelope, speaks volumes
