I actually get USPS updates automatically. In each step of the way it keeps giving me some variation of this message:

Your item arrived at a shipping partner facility at 10:54 pm on January 11, 2023 in JAMAICA, NY 11430. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date.

That was the message I got when it arrived in Chicago. I had thought my package would be processed through Jamaica, NY (?) But LTexp tells me it's awaiting customs clearance at ORD, Chicago. So I've no idea.

Ah yeah from what I've seen, when you get an update overseas with LTexp it makes some random tracking update on USPS

for example at the exact time my LTexp said "departed from origin" it said departed from facility Woodridge,Il on the USPS tracker

That's what has me confused, I thought my package would clear through New York, not Chicago. Not that I care, it's just confusing as hell. This whole time the import was handled through Jamacia New York, just like other imports I've had in the past (being on the east coast). But for some reason my watch is in Chicago waiting on customs clearance.

I hope that doesn't mean they'll have to send it to New York next.

That or all the tracking is bullshit and it's just there to quell the people who don't know or care to set it to LTexp there are tons of complains about "Fast Track Express" about their package leaving and arriving to the same location or bouncing between Jamaica and Woodridge, since mine went straight from O'Hare to USPS I don't think "Fast Track Express" ever even touched the package

The tracking has always been FUBAR. I also read some bad reviews about Fast Track Express. I guess I'll find out over the next day or two. If your progress is in any indication, then mine should clear customs tonight and then be handed off to USPS. ...but I guess we'll see.

Honestly there might be a chance yours has already cleared customs and it's actually just waiting on being brought to the origin distribution center

He didn't have the watch I wanted in stock. But I ordered it and paid my deposit on 12/20.

On 12/31 I approved QC and paid the balance. Steve acknowledge he recieved the funds, and that I'd get "tracking tomorrow." But being the 1st and a Sunday I didn't really expect that.

On 6th I recieved a tracking number. It arrived at the Shenzhen Airport sorting facility on 7th. I guess at that point it's going through China's export system.

It departed China two days later on January 9th, and arrived in Chicago on January 11th. So from first deposit to now, has been 25 days, and more then likely I won't get it until the 17th or 18th. So, 29 or 30 days from first order (?)

Which is sort of what I expected. I'm going to write a total review so other noobs will know what they might expect.

Yes, it's one of those watches that I like the clean basic design and look of, but not enough to pay for a gen. The one I purchased has an asian clone of an ETA workhorse, the cal 2824. The Chinese are pretty good at this movement, and if mine craps the bed, I can always put a Swiss ETA in it. The 2824 is one of the first movements I ever worked on, so I'm very familiar with it.

It's taken a long, long time to get through Chicago. Short of some glitch in the Matrix, or some huge tracking inaccuracy (not impossible), mine will not arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

But it looks like mine didn't even spend a day in customs. So US Customs wasn't a huge a hang-up.

Yeah it's very hit or miss I think, as long as it gets where it's going I guess it's not an issue but damn does it causes some unnecessary worry

Wow! you guys got some fast tracking compared to mine. I ordered and paid in full on 3rd. Got QC pic/vid on same day and approved it. I had to email Steve for tracking info and on the 7th he emailed me USPS tracking number with the watch in its cover and picture of the USPS label next to it. It's the 15th and still no update on USPS or LTexp site.


@silentelephant @Evox Are you guys typing the USPS tracking number on the LTexp site or there is another tracking number you guys are using for that site? Hopefully Steve was able to ship the watch out as he had it on hand/in stock at the time of purchase.
