I was offered $240 for the spectre strap without buckle ($60) - been on the fence. This is private not through a store though.
Might want to hold onto it then to see if this information is correct!

Am I right in thinking there is the Spectre version of the NATO (with the 007 gun logo on the retainer) and a nearly identical, plain version in the same colour without any reference to the movie? The Spectre one being limited edition?

I've been told by someone who was in one of the Omega stores that they are going to increase the price of the NATO straps (including the Spectre style one) as well as many of their other straps, clasps and buckles from May the 1st.

Just a heads up to anyone on the fence about buying the Gen and has access to an Omega store this weekend.

Wow seriously? As if it isn't expensive enough already. I have the gen strap, it's really very good quality and feels spectacular. You do get what you pay for. But to increase the price any more than its being retailed for currently is a big no no imo..

I'm just passing on what I've been told, no idea if it's true or not but I guess we'll find out soon enough. Maybe it's just in that one store (London) for a limited time only or something. A trial run perhaps. I totally agree with you though. It looks and feels fantastic and is far, far better than the alternatives available but at the end of the day it's essentially a piece of nylon ribbon... £150+ is already pushing it and is frankly already out of my price range.

The thing is, if Omega charged £75 (which I think is reasonable) I'd probably be more inclined to buy two of them. Or even more. I can't imagine their margins on these need to be so high at the expense of increased sales... And if more people are seen wearing them, Omega get more brand exposure and free advertising.. It's not like NATO straps are a highly desirable luxury item either. It's the bare-bones of watch straps. Made for divers, the military and so on. That is the reason James Bond wears one. They're hardly an exclusive collector's piece that warrants such a price.

Anyway.. they probably have more idea about selling watches and accessories than I do!

Great looking watch by the way.

Thank you.
I'm guessing the 007 branded NATOs are exclusive to the 7,007 owners of the limited edition Spectre 300.

Yes, I have a gen nato but only has 'Omega' branding no '007' or 'Spectre'. But it really finishes the watch off nicely.

With you 100% on that one. Annoying!

To be honest I think the plain version is better. Personally, I feel too much Bond branding spoils the watches. In this case Omega has got it more right than usual with their Bond exclusive by not plastering '007' all over the dial, second hand and/or caseback like in previous offerings. A subtle nod to the movies is enough.

Unless they want to add a fully functioning laser or grapple hook to their next one of course...

Same here. The only thing i like about the Bond branded Nato is the brushed stainless steel parts. It's polished on the regular Omega Nato..

That's why I made my option for the Zuludiver, the steel parts are all brushed.

Yes but the feel of the nylon on the Omega strap is top notch... Love how it feels!

Just checking out the Zuludiver website now. Nice range.. Might consider getting the rubber strap for my Seiko SKX...

This is the first 'Bond' watch I've liked (I own a gen SMP) as you say, all the others seem OTT branding wise. IF I do bite the bullet and get a gen Nato, it would be the non branded one. The polished loops don't bother me.

I got my zuludiver leather strap today. It's so nice to wear and way more comfortable then cheap nato which comes with watch.

Totally! The texture of the fabric is very soft! Love mine too.
