Guys, try harder next time, beating a dead horse may be fun, but many of these new members just had a bitter experience and if guided the right way would maybe find their way in making positive contributions. Not saying you can't unleash your wits on a specific breed of people (the entitled, self-righteous, arrogant pricks), but if members tell about experiences we may find risible it's mostly just because they don't know better. RWI is here for that, to know better.
Don't worry, there's enough philipc's and "sorry who are" around to make your day.

Don't be sorry, just be mindful. The written word doesn't always come across as we may have intended. I did my fair share of bashing in my early days here. Slowly changed my stick to a carrot if you get my meaning. Probably because I'm tired of hearing phrases like "they told me RWI was full of arrogant elitist watchnerds" when I know that if you stick around and understand the ethos it's the exact contrary.

speaking for myself, I feel that joking and bantering is ok, as long as the line is not crossed to insult or demeaning. You can mock the consequences, but often the person is already down for his money, so no need to kick someone already on the ground

typically, if a post starts by "you are ...xxx" that's usually going to go the wrong way as it can become attacks on the person

/\ /\ /\ You are of course absolutely correct, and I hold my hands up for some of the bashing / flaming ..........

I agree with all you say, often I simply ignore and maybe post later on, but in this instance there was 2 triggers that did it for me


1) The DHG bashing


DHG has it's uses, i.e. if someone wants a piece that no TD's sell, and you know OK it's not the greatest but are prepared to add it to your collection for a specific reason, so you do your due diligence price wise and are prepared to live with certain flaws.

I sometimes will buy from DHG. Not $50 crap, but OK not the best reps in the world, neither piece will get much wrist time, bought purely for what they are and the history behind them, so reallythey are simply additions to live my display cabinet.
My display cabinet isn't their so I can invite all my buddies round and say "look at me and what I've got" it's in our Bedroom, and the only ones that see it are Mel and I.

Yup, about 100 should be the limit, I use Ali to try out watches to see if I want to buy a nice rep here, I also buy nice reps to see if I want the gen, increasingly in SS the rep is sufficient, only really PM for gens these days.
