Santos Dumont versions currently available?

Their service and quality of their leather goods are immaculate. Not comparable to a camille fournet of course but you‘re only paying a fraction let alone not even cartier such standards.

Their inserts look well made for the dumont line. I wish their range of materials for the dumont straps would be a bit larger.

There is no bracelet for the dumont line as of today.

Unfortunately no bracelet…

I would love a bracelet in the old santos galbee style matching the art deco nature of the dumont but as the original design was intended to be worn on leather i doubt there will be a contestant to the sportier santos de cartier on a bracelet.

Did anyone got the bigger size and can do a site by site comparison? I agree with BION when he says F1 would be to go to. In the enmd its quartz and I would only go for gen when it comes to the full gold version. SS makes no sense to get a gen

Buy the stainless XL and slap in a genuine piaget caliber if you find one - problem solved haha

The gen quartz movement looks like a joke and can be found on the bay for roughly 150-350$. Not worth the gen money - let alone that the rep decorations look more refined than on the gen. What a pitty.

Yes. But does the rep quartz movement visibly tick at each minute? I put a gen ETA quartz movement into an AP once and it stopped ticking each minute, gently moving instead minute by minute.

That being said I’m not even sure what the genuine Santos quartz does!

The only upgard would be a manual piaget 430p with matching hands and stem and you‘d have the feeling of a mechanical santos if you care about that on the XL version.

The other quartz ones are pretty much overpriced - that’s also the consensus in the gen world.

for 198€ I think anything besides a strap upgrade is an overkill. wouldnt even bother to change to a piaget werk.

however a side by side comparison with GEn would be lovely to see if the dumont in SS is a contestor for the NWBIG list

I think it is worth a look - this video highlights the differences between the mechanical and Quartz references quite nicely.

I can't speak for the small but I have the F1 and it's a nice rep. Cartier font a little thinner than gen but other than that great. I bought the gen strap for it which was more than the watch which is great upgrade

I can only agree with that. The watch looks great. Would it be possible for you to post another photo with a little more distance to the watch and can you tell me the TD where you bought the watch?

Any one got the FIF mechanical handwind XL Dumont ? Been asking a few TDs but none has been able to get me one.
