SA3135 Movement Observations

I have two watches I recently purchased with the SA3135 movement in them 1 Sub & 1 YM (just recently sold the YM as I am getting the gen). I have noticed on both of them the following:

1. When you pull out the crown to change the date (Rolex Position 3) you have to find the "sweet spot" to get it exactly right. Once you get the hang of it, it works fine, but on my ETA's, ETA clones and A21's, it seems they have a more pronounced "click" to the date change spot (easier to find).

2. When I am finished adjusting the date and/or time if I push the crown back in quickly (Rolex Postion 1-Wearing Postion) it will change the set time. Hence, I need to put it into postion 1 fairly slowly to keep the hands from moving.

The movement itself is beautiful and they both appear to keep good time. I am waiting on the gen Rolex I have purchased to compare, but don't remember thinking this on a prior gen 3135 I had owned. Bearing in mind I am as stupid as they come, it may be just me...so am I missing something here?

Interesting, I'll have to see if it does the same thing on my 3135 YM when I receive it.

Yeah, if you would please and let me know. When I adjust "slowly" all is okay. However, on my other movements one does not even have to think about it, the postions are pronounced.

It def has a sweeter spot than the ETA's, Clones, 21j's and The Gen 3135...but I can for sure live with it...I am the lucky guy who bought his YM.....the overall look, feel, fit and finsh if this watch is spectacular...I can live with a Gspot in setting the movement....doesnt bother me a bit.

My 2 cents worth.

You're not missing anything, these movements are just clones wearing fancy shoes.

Hi Rob, I agree actually, the SA3135 YM is awesome (hell, made me want to get the gen!) and I can live with the "sweet spot." It was just more of an observation to see if it was just me on the date/time setting thing.

Humm...one would think it would act like the other ETA clones then and not be difficult to change the date or the hands move when you push the crown back in. Does not make sense if an actual ETA clone.

Hey Federico, here is the link of the Sub from PT. You don't want to see any pictures I would take! The Sub and the YM are beautiful...especially the YM IMHO.

If you try to pass this movt off as gen. Even there is the Sweet spot problem. End of the day, you can just BS and say you haven service yr 3135 watch for long... That's why its abit hard to get the date.

Anyway, this watch work exactly like gen 3135. You insist , other also can't do anything about it.. Unless you let them pop open your backcase..

I'm having a hard time seeing where I'd let a guy unscrew the crown if he wanted to see my watch. I'd probably tell him it's easy to crossthread, and I don't want to pay to fix it if he mis-threaded it.

No doubt..as I said before..I was interested in the WATCH more than the movement....I just happen to score this 3135'd watch..the watch is KILLER..KILLER..KILLER..... the movement is still in the "time will tell" category.

Rob

I don't recall ever reading someone intended to pass this off as a GEN...certianly not me....or mvement....but I was always one to make a knee jerk descision on stuff.

The overall WATCH is fantastic as we have read guys chime in.

Make NO MISTAKE....I am not 100% PRO 3135 movement by any stretch...just willing to give it a shot and see....thats my 2 cents.

Hi Warrcraft,
I'm also interested in Puretime's Submariner with 3135.
One question (it's not visible on their web site): is the lume blue?

Thanks.

To anyone who know enough to pick a fake from our extensive list of reps, they're going to know straight away if they pop the caseback. Personally, i don't see any of this as a problem - if you're trying to convince people your watches are gen (@ omega88) you've got the wrong idea IMO.

The most obvious tell on these is the bezel 'click'.... I've not come across a rep that comes close to the crispy, pronounced (and consistent) click of the gen.

Still, frankening one of the should now be easier.
