?? Pro hunter made a double red deepsea.

Edit: and it doesnt have a DLC'd HEV - only the jacques edition makers did that. Judging by the AR'd crystal, matte dial and matted bezel onthis one I'd say it's the real deal.

oh shit , i completely missed that 10 spacing. hah!

well someone put some work into that rep - they got the dial and bezel insert matted, and a good pearl on it. i wonder if it still has the incorrect jacques caseback on it :)

-Bad pearl
-Dial is glossy (which is normal for DSSD's, I don't understand the fascination with creating matte dials! UGH)

Pro-Hunter "Military" Deepsea

REF: 116660 | Year 2012

Descendant of the naval military dive watches, the Pro-Hunter Single Red Military Deepsea has been carefully revised with a range of features that make it one of the toughest dive watches available. The fixed bars and looped NATO strap are impossible to accidentally remove by any but the most extreme circumstances, while the jet-black Diamond-Like Carbon coating protects the finish of the watch from daily damage. Very rare, and nearly out of stock, this watch has been produced in a limited series of 100 pieces, and is supplied with original box, maker's certificate, and Pro-Hunter two-year guarantee.

Pro-Hunter "Sea-Dweller Deepsea" Single Red
REF: 116660 | Year 2012 Brand New

Inspired by the original Rolex Deep Sea Special, the Pro-Hunter Deepsea single red is limited to 100 individually-numbered pieces. In addition to the technical features found on the Deepsea (helium release valve, very high pressure-resistance, domed sapphire glass, nitrogen-hardened steel and titanium case components, and "Glidelock" clasp) the stainless steel case is treated with a hard black Diamond-Like Carbon coating, and the dial is imprinted with the words "Pro-Hunter" in crimson. Brand-new watch supplied with original manufacturer's box and certificate, and two-year Pro-Hunter guarantee.

Pro-Hunter Deepsea "Triple Red" #023

REF: 116660 | Year 2011

Unique number 023. Three distinctive lines of red print on the dial identify this as a very exciting Pro-Hunter. Fifty years ago, the original Rolex Deep Sea Special plumbed the planet's deepest ocean trench. Now, commissioned by the owner of one of these very rare old experimental Rolex watches, Pro-Hunter's Deepsea Triple Red reflects the best technical qualities of the day: tough black Diamond-Like Carbon coating, helium release valve, very high pressure-resistance, domed sapphire glass, "Glidelock" clasp, and of course, only 100 numbered pieces! Brand-new, supplied with original manufacturer's box and certificate, and two-year Pro-Hunter guarantee.

Double Red
========================================

Interesting to note the two varieties of bezel inserts. There has been some disagreement about the thickness, all of these are gens so i hope that this helps with the understanding that I was correct in the past about my claim that the thicker is accurate and acceptable. :D

They did have a double red also, just FYI.

http://www.discoverprohunter.com/archive/DeepSea/

(I was under the impression that PH matte'd their DSSD dials - the pics you have on the SR and TR do not seem to be though, so quite probably my mistake there as I doubt they left the SR & TR glossy and matted only the DR)

Thought the pearl looked better than the std rep one, more like the new ones coming on the BP fac ceramics.

Produced by whom? Bamford?
;)

Prohunter, one of the other rolex mod houses. Who both like to accuse each other of ripping off the others "designs" btw, which is beyond hilarious to me.

Questions....... Why not DLC/PVD the HEV also?

I remember somewho mentioned that it was possible to remove the PRO-HUNTER from the rep dial. Is that possible?

Are the lume indices and hands on the DSSD the same as the LV?

That was me. :) Tape off the area not being effected and use some chrome polish to remove the printing. I don't remember which brand I used, but there are solvents in the paste that remove the printing. What's left behind is a very subtle and very hard to see slight impression of where the printing was. This doesn't harm the dial itself as I believe that finish is baked on. Even if it isn't baked on, it's still resilient enough that no harm will come to it.

Looks like the sharpie trick will work on the HEV. I just tested it on a few SS things around the house.

 How on earth did you decide on chrome polish? Just thinking mild abrasive would do it, or did you see something somewhere about removing dial printing with it. Just curious what got you trying such a thing.

I just hope it is not the same as his advice here......

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/...-91918?p=905305&highlight=Loctite#post-905305

I don't believe he put a new one in- to be sure, you need to pull the stem out completely and share a photo of it for us to comment on. This is the only way to verify it....

When re-installing the stem, you must use Loctite® Threadlocker Red 271. Watchsmiths are cheap bastards and never use the good stuff! Just a little on the tip should do it. Glad you shared this so we can look out for you.
