Couple of new entries for me,I followed your advise for the shutter speed, black contrast levels and tried to remove all of the dust I could see.
I also played with selecting the background and trying some unique effects.
Let me know if you see improvement.

AFTER-EDIT1; same watch as before and after shot

I am only 10 days in on my 30 day free trail
Can be downloaded with no credit card, address etc directly at adobe.com
Before these 10 days I never used any editing software on it computer just windows picture viewer for cropping and sizing
When my trial is over I will likely try out the free photofiltre recommended here and see how that goes or buy an older version of photoshop
Back to the point thank you for the compliment below Is how I added the backgrounds
Using the select tool, icons on left there are different select tools any will work
Select either the watch or just the background
If you select the watch you can right click and their is an option to inverse the selection

Once you have what you want selected it can take a bitbto get what you want and not extra
Go to filter I believe it is an option at the top
Under filter there are a bunch of differnt artistic filters to play with
Today is the first time I have used it so it is obviously not too difficult
I have a couple of apps on my iphone that do similar things to photos in terms of filters
After you change your background you will likely want to adjust the levels, contrast or gamma of the watch so it pops against the background
I think you could do the same thing creating layers and import your own backgrounds but I tried that for about an hour this afternoon before giving up, if anyone knows how I would love to know how

I followed your instructions and this is the best I can manage, guess there is still a lot to learn haha

Alviando, that last picture is the best you posted, I'm really happy this thread and its participants have led you to this high level in quality. Congrats ! It will be hard finding a winner...
According to what I understood from PHicks, the contest is over (let's wait on him to pop up and declare it officially).
But of course, feel free to post as many eyecandies as you desire, here, or in other places on the boards : I think we have just found new potential photographers of the year ;)

^_^ Thanks pix! I'm trying to figure out some more pics to take before phicks gets on and closes the contest lol I can't think of anything else. It's hard because looking at mreynold's watches I want to take more pics but then looking at my watches just kind of makes me go bleh lol I like it on my wrist but neither look the greatest in pics haha... lol

Times up!
Just down to calling in the results from D4M and Pix.
I'll post the results after I get the numbers in.

By the way Mreynolds767 be careful about buying older versions of Photoshop on the internet. Almost all of them are illegal copies that have had the registration s/w disabled. They work but you get no support from Photoshop.
