That's a nice looking watch; you must be very pleased. I'm definitely moving more towards the watches with simple clean lines.

Good looking pictures too, the lume shot came out real well. What are you using for camera equipment?

I have a small Sony CyberShot. Its a pretty nice point and shoot camera, and has some nice features if you know how to use them. I've seen alot better lume shots...but I can't find my mini tripod at the moment. I held the camera as steady as I could for that one.

We really have nice pics these days :D
DrWatch, that Steinhart looks really good !

@Spider87 : if your camera has enough megapixels, you don't realy need a macro lens. Just shoot at a normal distance, then cut and paste as new image the details you wish to focus on... :)

@Pix, thanks for the tip... Here's a pic that I did that with turned out pretty nice I think this one hasn't had any touchups other than cropping.
EDIT: Sorry for the size..... This pic host didn't give me a smaller thumbnail option or anyhting and I was trying to keep as big a resolution as possible.

EDIT EDIT: The watch is unchangeably dirty lol the inside of the case I believe has much dust and scratches on the dial (above the dial @ 9)

Hey Spider87 I think we need to give you a lesson in photo resizing!
It took me 5 minutes to scroll thru that picture!

I did make me laugh though; especially when you realized and posted the edit.

I'm still laughing now...

PHicks and I are already discussing about the winners before proposing them to D4M and LMR as well. So, if that makes you feel better, the contest is anyway about to end :)

Any watch is fine; but it must be a watch!

When are we going to see some more pictures guys?

Crap. Here I've been wasting all of my time taking nude self-portraits.

BTW, @spider87: don't listen to them. I've never seen a Rolex Daytona the size of a dinner plate before and I thought it was pretty cool. :)

Blinking: To PM or it didn't happen...

Bold: Thanks, I actually routinely eat off of it. Pretty damn clean for that wouldn't you say? lol

Ok, times nearly up!

We'll allow posts up until Sunday night (March 15th ET) and then it's down to Pix and D4M to pick the winners!

Just a reminder that this competition is open to new members as well as existing members that have posted pics before.
See the rules at the start of this topic.

Now's a good time to jump in with some stunning shots.

@Spider87, your last picture was so big that when I type I never get to the end of the page!

@ahw676, the watch picture constraint only applies to the guys. A few choice pictures may just get you enough support that
we bug Admin for that 'ladies' section.

Oh, crap. If I'd known that, I wouldn't have deleted them all.

However, I did send selections to the Admin on three separate occasions, but they keep getting rejected for posting. Some garbage about this being a family-friendly forum. Obviously this place is run by a staff of misogynists. :)

how do you upload photo to post
Open an account at one of the photo sites likes photobucket.
Upload your pictures there and then use the IMG CODE link feature to paste the link into here.
It's pretty easy once you get familiar.

go to http://www.getdropbox.com then when you post an image just left click on the image in your folder and select open in new window. Copy and paste the new url using the coding above. It is free up to 2 gigs and works really well.

I see you figured it out; not too bad is it.

The pic you uploaded on the other post was only about 268 pixels wide; unlike Spider87 that was more like 10 trillion! This may have been intentional but the optimum is about 680 wide. This is adequate to get a good web picture but you should save the original because editing the 680 will cause a lot of picture quality loss.

Look forward to seeing some competition shots of your Cartier.

This contest showed to be a nice one and I'm really glad we had so many posts. It's a difficult step starting shooting watches and publishing while you (almost) never did it before.

From my side I'll report my suggestions of the winners to PHicks latest end of this week, after I got in touch with D4M.

That was fun, thx all :D

@Pix lol you and phicks are killing me with the constant references back to my pic haha yes it was intentional haha but only because I was at a dilema I liked the amount of detail in that pic so I didn't want to get stuck having to resize myself because then there was no way to see the picture at the full size I wanted and I didn't want to use imageshack because it was auto resizing the pic to a smaller size which did the same thing :-( lol I hope my giant pic at the end doesn't effect anyones decision :p I figured the detail of the pic was worth the extra page real estate that was used by it.

Just my .02 ;-)

-Spider87

EDIT: Just wanted to thank you guys for this awesome contest too. I have not only gotten better (at least IMO) at photographing my watch but this contest helped me become more active in this great community here at RWI. Thanks for everything guys!

Well you have certainly pulled some interest to this forum with this contest as I was kind of here but not fully here until I saw the contest and started posting and started talking to you guys.

Thanks, it's a great place to be :)

On the contest though: do I understand that the judging/decisions will be done/made in 4 days? (thur, fri, sat, sun) ??? On Sunday the 15th? OR is that just the official end?

From my side, yes. But PHicks is leading this thread and pictures can be added until the end.
