RWI memeber sales from Canada

As a fellow Canadian who does not like to take custom risks, I have been on the look out for Canadian RWI members watch sales. Unfortunately, for some reason, most Canadian member's sale thread become sold in less than a day or just mere few hours. Then you have others who is long posted and remains unsold.

I tried to subscribe to the thread, but it seems to only send me an email at the end of the day with a breakdown of which threads are new and which threads are updated.

This makes it harder for me to snatch up a good watch from another Canadian because they are sold too fast to someone else not in Canada. This adds customs risk (although maybe only 1-2%) and additional shipping cost, which can be eliminated if it was sold within Canada.

On the contrary, a good portion of CONUS watches are open to sale to CONUS members only. I agree that with less Canadian members, watches open to sale for Canadian members only will take much longer time to sell.

I feel the need to propose, regardless if people practice it or not, to Canadians that priority should be given to Canadians for the first day of the sale post.

What does other people think?

I'm trying to sell something, first good standing member that says I'll take it, gets it. That's how most sales go, not much you can do about it other than hitting the refresh button and hopping you catch what you're looking for.

I think that the seller can sell to whoever they want. If you miss out on the sale it's not their fault. Spend more time here

But my point is if they sell within Canada, seller can pay less for shipping, and that's the benefit.

Without benefit I would not recommend anything.

The sales usually state extra cost for international shipping and customs risk on the buyer. There's no real disadvantage to selling internationally

I'm in Winnipeg about 45 minutes away from the US border and do US shopping all the time by getting it shipped to a parcel pickup about 5 minutes into the US. Because I frequent across the border, I usually sell to CONUS just as quickly as to a Canadian. Since I'm making the trip anyways, the shipping is actually much cheaper via USPS to CONUS than it is with Canada Post to a fellow canuck.

I prefer to sell to Canadians of course, but there aren't a whole lot of us on here compared to the yanks. I'll usually only give a few hours leeway to wait for a canuck until I say yes to an offer from a yankee.

There was an opportunity for a Toronto local trade a few weeks ago but unfortunately the watch is OHPF just a few hours since its post. That's an advantage unique to Canadians because most Canadians are only in a few large population zone in Canada vs. all over CONUS in the States.

I'm from Canada and I've got some watches for sale. I completely understand where you are coming from though. However I think it goes both ways too. I've some issues as of late bringing in a watch from CONUS.

Maybe it's time for me to write a WTB post
