Got mine from a local airport duty free. However the logo is not embossed centrally. Makes me wonder.

Great write up. Thank you for sharing accurate and detailed information. Been a cigar guy for 30 years and have seen many rep cigars. Not just cohiba but other big Cuban brands as well.

Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Those are singles boxes. They are not perfect. The box they came looks good. ;)

Ah I see. That makes sense, and its only a Siglo II . Haha.

Still longing to try a Behike, which retails around U$75- US$80 equivalent in my country!

Siglo IIs for $99 is not too bad. I am assuming that is 351 Mal Ringgit?

Wow. Interesting read.

Out of curiosity (and please excuse my ignorance) but can one easily tell it's a rep from smoking it?

I mean, do the rep and gen 'taste' similar/close enough?

Thought's on these. A friend gave me this as a gift for my bachelor's party. He travels a lot so I don't know where he picked these up from.

No date and factory code. No hologram. No flag. No tamper seal.

The box papers and rings are gen but because of the other stuff my guess is no.

Box appears to be stolen before the sorting room.

They look nice though. ;)

The majority of people cannot tell. That's like asking if most people can tell a rep 111 from a Gen. ;)

Man this all seems so elementary to me simply because I'm an avid cigar smoker and its just incredibly obvious to me by now but this is a great post as there really are many people who truly get screwed. Great informative post!

Yeah, unfortunately the 1966 is one of the highest counterfeited Cubans. Also, they are one of the most expensive Cohibas on the market fetching $600 per box of ten cigars...

By looking at your cigars, the only thing that looks suspicious is the dark wrapper and the non uniform size. These are supposed to be the same size, to the mm and should have the pigtail !!!

I know Frigpig is a big Cigar Aficionado, but the 1966s do not have a seal and hologram on the wooden box. The box is in fact genuine!!! The outer box which is beautiful by the way... has all the security features!!!

Maty, is there a factory stamp on the bottom of that box?

No stamp on the box, that's why I believe it's genuine. The OP could check the lock and see if it says: Schmale Germany...

As far as I remember the box did come in a yellow box like that don't remember if there was a tamper seal and all. It was at my bachelor party after all [emoji12]

Is the lock supposed to look like this?
