Luth is not the kindest guy around and often is very abrasive to others.

Whatever comes of his watch doesn't effect me either way but I'm very suspect when it comes to members trying to make funds off our forums. I think its in bad taste, imagine if every member was hocking something here.

I just don't like it and to say theres no funds being made to me sounds untruthful, sorry but I don't buy it.

Point 1 - Absolutely true. He can be just as annoying as you are at times. Let's call that a draw.

Point 2 - Almost every member here uses the forum to unload their used watches. This forum is set up to exchange ideas and exchange merchandise among members. And until he asks for a deposit up front, he has just as much right to sell his watches here as you do.

Point 3 - We all pay around $300+ for a decent rep that is made to 1/10th of the quality standards that Luthier is pursuing. He's already made several trips to China and has Mary working this weekly. How much do you figure he's making? If you put a dollar amount on his time and energy, I can assure you he's loosing his ass on this project.

KBH...

You hit the nail on the head...

Seriously Sub...you calling out Luth for being "abrasive" are you shitting me?! (although he is...)

What's the problem?...we'll buy from "TD's" who we really don't know anything about, but a fellow "member" wants to offer something up and it lights off a shit storm?

REALLY?

I'd rather send my money to a "trusted member" than a "trusted dealer"

As usual...just my .02

Well said, mate.

Lord knows, Luth and I have had our problems (which is why he's here and not next door - although he's welcome to come back any time), but let there be no mistake, Luthier is being completely honest about the time, money and sheer bleedin' effort that has been put into this project.

As Col said earlier, Luth's trustworthiness and integrity are beyond doubt here. I wish him well.

When the 2 year process is over for the Swiss made factory in China to produce 300 watches we will see the outcome and hopefully it will be a good one. Until then everything is speculation.

1. I'm "abrasive" with idiots only. Ask dozens of noobs, who PM me on DAILY bases with legit questions, and you'll be very surprised.
2. Sub proved, that he knows shit. If he'd read all the posts at RWG, he'd know, that Chris (10:10), a man with 15 years being AUTORIZED Rolex repairman, agreed to be our Repair Center.
3. That stupid issue with my "earnings"... I can say only one thing - molds cost me MORE, than all 300 watches itself. As I said - I lost some money ON THIS BATCH. I know one watchmaker from this forum was charged for the hands mold $1490!!! OK??? And it's cheapest mold. My bracelet has 12 molds. Not including rubber links molds. In the future I will earn some, that's for sure, but it will be watches under my own brand name, sold to a general public, not on forums. Yes, most of you already know, - me and Mary going legit.
4. RWG watch took too long to make exactly, because we rejected practically, every part at first, some - 3-4 times. 7 factories failed to make my hours markers. 3 factories failed to make dark enough blueburst dial. And I paid for molds to each of them.
5. Yes, I left RWG, and it's not anyone's business, why. I'm still deeply thankful to Greg and Admin. for allowing me to try myself in the new field, and produce this watch.
Now, shut da fak up, and enjoy the life.
:D
P.S. Sorry, Col., I promised not to post in this thread anymore, I failed. Ban me.
:p

That's pretty insulting!

No time for 2 forums Luth!! I almost cured my Invicta problem and sold 2 of them including that big old ugly shot blasted grey Noma 4. But then Amazon forced me to buy a Yellow dial Grand Pro Diver what with its sexy glass back and 24 jewel movement at a price too good to resist. Then a member on RWG got fed up with his Noma 4 and in the end at £40 i had to buy it!!! Still my Breitling collection has grown to 7 now and i picked up an Oris and a Tag so its not all Invictas.

Surprised that on your China travels you didn't come across Invictas so called Swiss Made Factory as i guess they are made out there somewhere as no one has ever be able to verify their factory in the real Switzerland.

Trailboss told me on the other side that my smileys do work over here so might post a bit more and see if I can get my count up a bit as I am a right noob over here!

I couldn't help noticing that some highly regarded TDs hardly reach 200ish posts on forums where guys like Luth are in the 20000' (even if a fair part was used to spank noobs like me...). Nevertheless, it makes the first ones that mainly post ads for their products business men and makes the latter (or people like Greg r or Sub4me) true and devoted enthousiasts.
We have no problem at all to send 500 $ to a perfect unknown and are so happy not be ripped off (admit that without the forums, sending $ by WU to a guy at the other side of the world screams "Do me!!!") that we praise the guy so much we seem to suffer from Stockholm syndrome!
But to tell the truth, i think that Luth (or any other known and respected member or these forums who would engage himself in such an endeavor) has WAY MUCH more to lose if the watch ends up as a failure as any respected TD. And I am not talking about money.
If TD can't sell reps anymore, they will sell something else. Anything else that makes money. I think it is different for someone like Luthier.
Talk about a guitar with a music shop sales man and have the same talk with a luthier and you'll understand my point of view...
So to make a long story short, for me ,300$ to buy from a guy who has the same hobby as me and designed what is,RWG or RWI labelled, his baby, is ten times safer than any TD in the world. His creative self demands this watch to be released and it will be. By all means.
