That insert looks great. Shown below next to a random gen. Provided the movement is right the only real downside to this choice is the weak rehaut. The bezel lip is there but can be increased a little if desired. If the bezel operation is great like every GMF I've had, this is definitely a winner.

You're probably right bro, the red on the GMF looks a little brighter with less halo but hard to tell in pics. If CF is sharing, all the others are probably buying. So there would only be minor batch variations.

I've had a Pepsi CF v2, and our beloved JohnnyDepp did an amazing job emphasising the Lip at the bezel and swapping the xtal to a Gen one.
He also did a full service and the watch was very nice.

However I was not satisfied by the bezel mechanism as well as I was not fully satisfied by the insert color.
(The faults in the case's shape, honestly, didn't annoying me!). Because of that I sold it.

Of course, now I'm looking again for a pepsi (!!) then I'm investigating about the new GMF v5, and (please correct me if I'm wrong) it seems it could be assumed at least as a CF with a better bezel.

however in the genuine Batman / Batgirl version the lip not have, but only in the pepsi version

While im ultimately not sure what move was the correct one, I decided against a V6 GMT BLNR and went Clean ... I have their BLRO and the bezel on mine isnt terrible so hoping for the best! Will def need to watch QC pics to ensure they dont give me a lipped bezel!

I've been on the "CF vs GMF" Pepsi decision fence for the last week or so. I made the stock enquiries with Li, had the CF in my cart ready to go, and then decided to trawl through this sub again and saw pics of the grease and poor finishing on the CF which KJ2020 unveiled after taking the crown apart.

I think I'm gonna go the GMF route and then ask to see the movement like what KJ2020 mentioned above, to confirm its actually the VR. I've read quite a few of horror stories about the SA movement - not sure if it's as prevalent as it seems as people will almost always complain about the bad more often than post about when things are going well e.g. "my SA movement stopped working after 7 days" vs "my SA is still working after 7 days!" - sweeping generalisation but I'm sure y'all get the point.

Much happier now with the correct vr movement. Some dealers may considering this the v5 with vr movement. Just in case you are going to order one.

Haha, just a GMT fan boy bro but glad you were able to make a choice that's best for you.

Just stay on top of your QC, GMF is a sneaky fac!

How does the crystal, cyclops and DW on this one compare to the clean version?

When you order the gmf it may help to know that gmf goes for this as v5, and the same watch just with sa movement is v6. At least that information was conveyed by my td.

Now the wait begins for the watch to arrive :). Is there anything special to pay attention to when setting the vr gmt movement. Remember that somewhere I saw a how to guide but cannot find it anymore?

You can use the VR3185/6 just like a gen movement. Download the user guide here

https://www.rolex.com/media/user-guides.html

The guide does not specify which direction the hands move relative to crown movement, so it is applicable to all the newest Rolex GMT movements - 3185/6, 3285.

The VR movements are based on the 3185, which has a robust jump click part and the date can be set backwards using hour jumping. You have to go backwards to about 9PM for the date to go back one day. However, just as a precaution I avoid doing that so as not to over-use the part. I do not set the date backwards on my gen 3185 either.

There will be visible hands wobble while hour jumping in either direction with both rep and gen 3185s. The 3186 was designed specifically to correct this, but the jump click part is weaker. Rolex is now on it's third iteration of the jump click for the 3186.

My new GM GMT have some heft to it. We are now only 10 grams off from GEN! With an oiled bracelet and this weight it’s hard to call this out.

Beautiful watch! Enjoy it! I wonder how close the rose gold is to gen.

As promised here my qc - is looking decent to me.

Only thing which is concerning to me is the sticker on the back with 3285 as I specifically asked for the vr 3186. Will confirm with td before GL. Forward crown = forward hand - right?

Good pick-up. Glad you got it sorted!

----

I received my QC pics today and at least it had the right movement written on it - I've asked for a photo of the movement and/or a video of a 24-hour clockwise time setting to confirm it is in fact a VR. Seems like we can't trust GMF's word on it, unfortunately.

It looks like the correct GMF V5/V6 bezel (I'm not an expert by any means so any opinions are appreciated), and I'm content with how everything looks. If I had to nitpick, alignment could be better on some of the hour indicators (e.g. 6 o'clock) but I'm not too fussed, to be honest.

As long as it's the correct movement I will GL it!

Can't wait to get it in-hand (or on-wrist :D)!

Thanks, Hans81!

Received the additional QC photos today (below) and it looks promising - KJ2020, I believe this is the correct VR movement?

If so, looks like I'll be giving it the GL as everything is in-order - very excited to receive this one.
