Thanks man, just got the blnr a couple weeks ago. I'm actually out of town right now and kept it locked up at home, here's the one pic i have on me right now, sorry for the quality and filter

the sub in that pic is my brother-in-law, we got them on the same day. and the AD gave us a hat. ONE hat for buying 2 watches lol. o well it was a good deal.

the silver djii is a bp v2. but when I got it, the bracelet felt like all the screws are glued down, and basically couldnt remove any screws. I actually had bought an extra bracelet, but that didn't actually fit the case! so i basically sent all of it back to make sure they can get me a bracelet that fits and actually works. actually there was nothing wrong with the watch itself but they requested it so they can see what their issues were with this bracelet situation.

Damn, nothing (including frankens) could ever compare to that gen Rolex shine and allure :D
They both look beautiful and it is always good to receive Rolex goodies and freebies - I recall seeing stuff given by ADs or Rolex private events over the years, like hats, bags, pens, ashtrays, swiss army knives, wallets... hell even Ralph lauren Polo Shirts with "Rolex" stitched onto it lol

Thanks man!
The gen crystal seems really expensive - $360 USD brand new I think, and they are also quite rare. I personally think that the BP Stock crystal isn't bad at all in terms of clarity - I think I rather spend the money on changing the crown and tube (which is a minor flaw and passable)

What a great review! Not much of a datejust fan but i love the thread and the work you put in the watch.
I tend to stay away from all watches that have a metalic dial coronet. I am too suffering from severe ocd :) .

The only dial i find somewhat ok is this :
coronet_zpsezuez0yh.jpg

Still off but better than many imo.

Nice info on the movements and stem height. I also think that a correct crown position is more important than fast date change.
Also i am glad to hear about the rehaut engraving being good.

I applaud you for the work on the movement ring.
I also love your explorer !

haha thanks! The picture of Oyster Perpetual purple dial can be ordered with 34mm or 39mm. They both use 2824-2 so the crown height would more accurate like gen as well. But I wonder which factory are they from.

Damn man, i just bought a gen dial. Got that itch thanks to you.

Hey, have you noticed any moving or shifting of the dial at all since the feet are sitting in grooves rather than holes? was the dial glued or stick on to the ring?

oh cool!!! It's my pleasure
Which dial did you get? There are many pretty dials for the 41mm Datejust, including the blue ones and the black ones

I didn't have to glue the dial onto the ring even though the gen dial feet are sitting in grooves. This is because when the watch is assembled, the movement tabs and screws will hold the dial down firmly with some pressure - the dial wouldn't therefore wobble around

Yea I figured the pressure would hold it together, good to know it doesn't wiggle around. Glad yours is holding up well! Great job.

I got the rhodium with blue Arabic numerals! Can't wait!

Since I don't have the courage to drill or file down like you, I might try to source both a BP and a noob version to use the noob movement ring and bracelet.

How's the date fitting in your date window? Any alignment issues going from the rep to gen dial?

The filing process for creating the 2 notches in the movement ring isn't hard or scary! If you can dismantle the watch and reassemble it, then filing the movement ring should be a piece of cake. But on the plus side, I have read that the noob bracelet feels better - but I always wonder if the gen bracelet would fit in the BP?

Good dial choice, your dial is going to light up like a torch after modding!

The dial window fitting is fine for me because i moved the dial very very very slightly to the left (within gen Rolex observation). Now the double-digit dates fit the gen dial's date window well:

Do you have a direct link or the website for your specific watch? I have come to find out there are so many different versions. I can't seem to find the 2824-2 movement version. Thank you.

1. choose a TD (trusted dealer) here -> https://forum.replica-watch.info/categories/trusted-rep-dealers.561/. You can read about each TD's review here -> https://forum.replica-watch.info/categories/trusted-watch-dealer-reviews.527/
2. the chosen TD's email address will be in their TD section somewhere. Then email your chosen TD and ask for:
Rolex Datejust II 116300 (BP factory V2 with A2824-2 movement + white dial)
3. TD will confirm if there is stock availability via email and tell you their payment method. You just follow through
4. pay for it
5. you will receive QC pics and you will need to accept or reject qc pics
6. once you have accepted the QC pics, watch will be sent to you

One more question. I'm looking st purchasing this same watch but with 2836-2 instead of 2824. I would be interested in replacing the dial with a gen dial. How difficult was it to replace? Do you know if local watch shops would work with rep Rolexes?

get 2824-2 version, it is better because it has correct crown height like gen
BP V2 only comes in 2824-2
2836-2 version is either from Noob or BP V1, or those Thai version
replacing stock dial with gen dial is easy - just follow my instructions and make holes/notches on the movement ring to allow the dial feet to sit
you should ask your watchsmiths around where you live - I wouldn't know

Thanks. When you say "crown height" are you referring to the crown at the top of the dial?

No he's taking about the position of the winding crown on the side of the case. Some movements are higher or lower so the crown sits slightly different in relation to the top and bottom of the watch. It is minute visuallyand only a watch/rep expert would be able to tell. However it's important if you plan to franken because you want a case that has he crown in the correct location.

The only mod I might be looking to do would be replace the dial with a gen dial. Are you saying I won't be able to do that with the 2836? Also I was told by the TD that it is a V2. He said he didn't open up the back but the date changed immediately at midnight so he said it appeared to be 2836. But again it's the latest V2 model.
