you just saved me a hundred bucks of tools 😅

or rather you delayed the expense until it bugs me
Some of the JKFs are so fragile that when you remove the xtal the retaining ring comes with it. Then again I have no clue what I am doing except it works lol. As I said I usually cheat and make it my wahctmaker's problem.

You seem quite happy with the watch OOTB. No dial change or crown, no case reshape etc

just bezel ageing and crystal
Maybe I am reading too much 😅

A bit of closure...

The watch has arrived, and now I see it in the flesh, I've decided that the crystal doesn't need changing. It looks great.

I guess these magnified macro photos distort your perception. :)

It looks good to me. I thought it would bug me, but when it’s on my wrist, not under magnification, it’s rather lovely. I actually like the distortion it gives at certain angles.

Many thanks for this helpful advice. After doing a lot of reading here and elsewhere it does appear the 14060 is not an ideal choice given the unpopularity. Nobody seems to make an on-size case and dial for it. You're absolutely right about Raffles case - it is oversize.
Seems a lot of people start out wanting to do a 14060 build and abandon it as either too complicated or too compromised.
I'm coming round to the idea of doing a 5513 or possibly a 6538.
I reslise I still have a hell of a lot to research and find out. Glad I made it here.
I had a gen 14060 back in the day - see pic. I was very proud to wear it as it was an unusal size and obviously the no date was a talking point. Had to sell it to pay the rent in leaner times and I've always had a plan to get a gen back one day. Meanwhile; here I am! ;-)

That's a rarer 14060 with frog foot crown logo. I love the simplicity and quirkiness of a 14060 (it was the last production rolex with hollow end links and lug holes!)
