HI all!

I have tried to search for this info but haven't been able to find an answer.

Are there bezel variations for the 116520 - as we see on dials.

Im trying to source a bezel - however I want it to be period correct with the rest of the watch :)

Tagging KJ as he is a freaking wiz of knowledge! :)

Cheers!

Bro I haven't followed the variations in 116520 bezels too closely. From a few articles I read, there seems to be not a great deal of differences in them. I see a lot of references to "slim font" and "MK6", which seems to imply there are different versions but you are right that the info about this is scarce.

This is a really great article about the history of the Daytona. However it only addresses your question with a single sentence

"Apart from small variations according to the period, the tachometric dial of the steel 116520 Daytona hasn't evolved for the steel version."

If you have a specific year in mind for your watch, this TRF post has some awesome high res pics of many gen samples so you can see what bezel was used in certain years and serials. It's really hard to see much difference among them.

There is a very nice gen 116520 bezel for sale here M2M

Perhaps some other members would know if there is a chart or pictorial compilation of the various iterations somewhere.

In case you were wondering, I have found that SS bezel scratches and even very minor dents can be carefully sanded with extremely fine grit paper (5000 and up) and then polished out without affecting the black marker fill. I've done this only on a rep, but would also do it on a gen now that I have some practice with it. I have difficulty accepting anything less than a NOS look on any watch. It's a curse, lol.

Sorry I can't address your question directly but make sure to check out the latest CF bezel, it looks really good and is a much cheaper alternative to gen
