that alone could be just enough to put it over the top. saying that, "maybe" they are not showing all their cards, nah. and its possible that this is the entre model, turbo on the way when sales of this one slack off. wishful thinking

It's because no rep will ever give you a 8.5mm tourbillion with that position of tourbillion and main spring without a clone movement. All tourbillion movements on replicas are based on a Seagull tourbillion which will be at minimum 13-14mm thick.

Just got a quote from a TD for 468. I’m debating. I really want it but 1) odd choice for the first RM rep and 2) the lack of even faux movement of the fake torb is a bummer.
I wish we could ask the small factory if hooking up the torb to seconds hand is possible. Probably not.

It’s not possible. Even if someone was willing to explore that option (which won’t happen as it isn’t worth the work, labour for a gamble) it’s gonna add a whole lot of extra thickness.
A small seconds movement couldn’t be rotated 20 degrees to push the torb? Guessing just a seconds hand adds to thickness?
