Sorry everyone, my comment was just some Kiwi humour and not meant to be taken seriously. It certainly wasn't meant to cause any animosity as I am new here and really like being a part of this community.
When I stated that the goal was to get to a point where they are indistinguishable, that may have been an oversimplification but I stand by it. I think manufacturers and us are looking to get things as close to gens as possible hence my choice of the word indistinguishable over identical.
By exact definitions we can debate forever about whether we are passionate about replicas or whether they are copies or fakes. But we can all agree that they are not genuine items and that a component of the premium price is due to superior workmanship and materials. But just how much is a topic for another thread. We admire and acquire for different reasons but to me, these things ARE art, and skill is required to make/copy them.
It doesn't matter why we are here and what our motivations are other than that we appreciate these reps, enjoy the community of like-minded individuals, deal with each other in good faith and with respect, and are interested in comparing and contrasting these pieces to assist manufacturers in developing something more accurate and work out which model we would prefer to acquire.
Batman Symbol, it's great you have your opinions about things and it is OK for us to differ. As previously mentioned, my message was mostly tongue-in-cheek and I certainly don't expect my RXF to become more valuable because of its flaws. I would like to develop a collection even if you are a one watch person and those are our respective rights. This is not a clap back or attack, but I would appreciate not being used as justification for your messages as it's probably more about the tone, and I'm not responsible for that. But let's move on and discuss what I think is a beautiful replica and focus on the thing we have in common.
I'll keep my posts more factual in the future and I apologise for prompting this exchange.
