Review of the Noob Superocean II 44mm

Ordered the black dial...one TD said he could not get the noob version only GF was available. Tried another TD and just got QC pics, after reading all of this thread really looking forward to it!

Just received mine and it is brilliant quality, add the gen aero strap and it's a pretty impressive piece!

It is noob, I went with Ryan at intime it is a great piece! I went with noob after a lot of reading over the GF.

No buddy the SOH2 by GF is only on a tang...I went gen as I'm not a fan of the tang and prefer the deployant. It does cost a lot more but I love the look!

Great review and really nice watch. I just wish they hadn't truncated a couple of the 24-hour indices (15 and 22). It's always bothered me when gen manufacturers do that - previous versions of the Rolex Skydweller were really bad (New 2018 Skydwellers are all stick markers).

Noob or GF could easily have modded the SO 44 truncated 24 hour markers to look like the Steelfish:

I know it wouldn't be truly 1:1 but IMO some design choices deserve to be "corrected".

Caved in and just written Ryan an email inquiry about the watch's availability, although I have doubt that it will look good on my 6,5 inch wrist.
Eh if it's too big I'll gift it to my dad

Just my humble opinion. My wrist is 6.75". I have the SOH 44. My favorite watches are 44 mm. I just bought the SOH 46mm. I really like it, just not as good as GF watches. Then you add my Gen and Rep Super Avengers at 48mm. The end result is I don't care what anyone else thinks because I enjoy watches.

I converted my tang to deployant - just cut it, add holes and a rep clasp. Saves me 500$ that I can use to get another watch

Interesting conversion, from memory the tang was not as thick as the deployant so keen to see how this look - share some pics hen you get a chance!

This would be my first watch at this size, if I dislike it I'll just gift it to my dad. Hoping it feels as nice as it looks

Well, I didn't take pics during the process, but the end result:

The clasp is wrong and i'm waiting for a new one (just a temp for now).

How i did it?
Just cut the tag so it will fit your wrist size (with the clasp).
Push something pointy and sharp (i use a tool that i have for strap holes) through the rubber.
Push spring bars and there you have it. simple.
