My watch is inbound with a Gen Aero strap waiting. I also bought the Rep deployment clasp.

Great combo...love that new deployment, the engravings are deep and crisp!

You guys have any tips on how/where to buy the gen aero strap? I just q.c-ed a blue soh -2 and think I’ll go gen on the strap as there is an obvious quality gap.

Hi guys !

I received my Superocean heritage II in black and it truly is a stunning watch.
The only thing that bothers me is the rotor noise...

johnlogan You said that even after lubrification, the rotor remains crazy loud. I ordered some Moebius 9010 but I am wondering if it's still worth it to apply a drop on the rotor. As I never opened a watch before, I don't want to take the risk of messing things in my movement if no positive results are expected haha.

In case I would still give it a try, does a friction ball would work well for opening the caseback ? (something like that for example : https://www.amazon.com/Friction-Ball.../dp/B0058EDAUA). Or should I order something else to properly open the caseback ?

Cheers

I'd use the friction ball, it's a one size fits all solution. I got mine from eBay for about $2 from memory.

I used diver silicone
https://www.amazon.com/Scuba-Choice-Silicone-Regulator-6-Ounce/dp/B007XAVC5M
It did not provide any improvements noise wise. The rotor still spins freely.
I had my wife use it and I could hear the rotor when she moved her arms. I.e people will hear it across the room. Hard to pass as GEN with that sound.

Yes I am a little disappointed so I only wear it at home or during parties, it's a shame because the watch really is beautiful...

It sounds similar to the issue of the ARF Daytona, where the decorated rotor is way too light. A solution might then be to change the rotor with a standard Miyota one.

Moebius 9010 should resolve it. I had a noisy rotor on a miyota movt and it sorted that. Another reason it might be noisy is that it is contacting the movt retaining ring or screws which hold the ring in place, which I've also had. A slight adjustment on these could solve it.

Did anyone who received one of these, knock back a QC? They all look very nice.

I'm about to order one and I'm interested if there are any issues to lookout for.

I usually just check that markers are straight, date centered, and look for blemishes.

Cheers,
