I’ve seen these pop up on the one watches? Does anyone know how these compare to the bp/GMF factory ?
These have the more accurate gold surrounds the day and date windows?

The stone dials Are only made to fit cal 3055/3155 on reference 18038/18238/118238. The model they made is 128238. Only the champagne and green/blue gradient is correct. Just a input if ur deciding what model to buy

Rolex does offer some stone dials in the 128x and 228x series of Day-Dates. I'm betting there are more available to high end custom buyers.

36mm YG has a turquoise dial
36mm WG has an opal dial
36/40mm RG has an Eisenkiesel dial (40mm w/baguette diamonds is very cool)
40mm WG/Plat has a meteorite dial
40mm YG has an Onyx dial

Yes, these variations were off catalogue, but they were available.

Im a huge fan of the onyx dial, just wish they made it in 40/41mm. ☹️

The windows and frames do seem to be quite snug, in combination with the thickness thats not a grat look.
The day/date discs also appear to be sunken, which is a shame. I cant wrap my head around why they spend all this time and effort creating something and then shoot themselfs in the foot with stuff like sunken date disc, which is very easily fixable.
The xtal isnt the best either, unfortunately.

Hopefully they can itterate quickly and fix some of these glaring issues.

I'm a massive fan of the red and the green gradient dials! What do we need to cross @CTime's palm with in order to see one of his brilliant videos of the watch IRL. ;)

This one has a grey vein in it, I wonder if they try to keep that characteristic on all of them. Ofc the diamonds are a given.
Yeah thats not the same. The main characteristic of the black onyx for me, is the absense of distracrions.
On this one the hour markers completely break it down and it loses the cleanness it had on the 36. Plus the print is way too bright. I know its a Rolex, I dont need it to smack me in the face every time I look at it. ☹️

I mean its nice and everything, just not what I wish for. ☺️ Im quite positive, they will never make it like that again tho. 😣

100% agree.

Fortunately I'm perfectly happy with the 36 DJ. to the extent that I'm not a fan of the larger size newer versions. The DJ looks perfectly balanced at its "original" size.

I tried a couple of 36 DJs, even got Bateman's DJ from American Psycho with the pajama dial, which I wanted to keep at all costs, but they just look ridiculous on my 18cm wrist and I never wore it. Or maybe its just me and my overcompensation for my small peepee. 🤣

Yeah, count myself fortunate to have an absolutely bog-standard 7 inch wrist.

(My other wrist is 9 inches, but we won't go into the reasons for that.)

Its a shame about the thick date window borders, now every time a look at them I think of jam jar glasses through the 80s and 90s :ROFLMAO:

Some of these configurations do look nice though, will be intrigued to see how they come out in QC.

Yes i know. Also malachite But with roman numerals. The malachite for previous ref is plain for example. But they made none of those. Only the dials that were made for previous refs like tigereye/onyx etc. What i meant is the variations they made do not fit the reference of the watch they made.

36mm turquoise 128238 is as close as RAF gets but the simple stone dials are preferable so probably why they made those.

Seeing these side by side shows just how bad the date window frames are.

My new fav, the Eisenkiesel dial. Rumored to be worn by Obergruppenführer Smith.

I don't find the baguette diamonds to be a distraction on the larger dials. I dislike the oversized Roman numeral and stick diamonds on the smaller dials. That's outright gaudy.

This is one of my favourite DD configs, that dial is absolutely incredible 😍
