You did well - but there's not a $100 difference between a VS3135 and a VR3135.....!
Kept the SH and swapped to a VS datewheel and a VS crown. Seems to have fixed my gap issue.

Not all VS date wheels are printed equally. Some are justified to one side, so there's no right or wrong answer, finding good parts that work best for your project is part of building the perfect replica.

I have fitted at least two VS movement with gen DW without any alignment problem. Problem is most likely a print issue on DW

175USD for a VS3135 on the forum. 75GBP for a VR3135 on Aliexpress. - these two figures felt like a considerable wee price difference for me.

You're not really comparing like for like - VS3135 on AliExpress available from £83

Annoyingly I didn't get it to switch at exactly 12 but close enough. Better than the -15mins it was before at least

Ah good to hear. I was under the impression the tolerance was much less than that.

I took the advice offered by some fine members here and rotated the dial a degree or two clockwise in order to better align the window and the dw. And it also lined up the 12 o’clock with the rehaut nicely. I was able to slightly bend the dial feet counter clockwise and reinstall it.
While I had it open I regulated the new vs movement. It’s running +2 spd now, it was -8 spd ootb. Hopefully this keeps up.
This watch is turning into a nice little addition to the collection.

Hey everyone,
saw in a recent sale thread on this model that the case back was replaced to correct the thickness of the watch. Is the thickness really wrong ootb? I measured mine 12.9~13mm. Few sources I checked also listed gen an 13mm.
Can someone shed some light on it?

Gen is 12.7mm
The crystal sits too high on the RAF ootb, so that's part of the thickness issue. A new hytrel ring will solve the crystal height.
