RAF 16610, New 5 Digit Factory

So what happened to RAF? Marketing BS. If it was ARF all along we wouldn’t be as interested, this is not a new watch or factory, it’s the same old ARF we’ve had for years, nothing new to see here, move along.

I believe they have made improvements. Dial, bezel and I think maybe even case shape. I'll wait till I have mine in hand to say for sure.

They are 100% using ARF bracelets and the same movement. Does that mean it's the "same old ARF"? I guess time will tell but I think we have a better product then the old ARF 16610.

It was not easy to find a 16610 ARF post shut down. I know I searched for months before this release. I was extremely pleased to see it back in production. I honestly could care less if they call themselves RAF or ARF.

Yes officially it is arf when i ordered it hont always called it arf even though i sent him the intime link where it is called RAF

I compared you QC pics to mine and it seems like you case may be the old ARF case?

Disregarding the Crown.... The CGs on yours look stumpier?

Meh. Looks fat lugged, super chamfers, stumpy crown guards, short base crown, flat hands, chamfered bracelet sides, crown stamped off centre on the wispy thin clasp, satin finish insert.. All same as before but they added a funky short crown with a case gap.

Such spoiled kids. We get that it's reusing a lot of ARF parts, it's written on every page since page 1. It's still a very decent option to get a 5 digits submariner and a great base to franken. Hands are OK and not worse than VSF 6 digits one.

On the video from last page case looks ok with better CG than my JF, dial seems improved. Still a way cheaper and better option than vietnam or korean case. Coronet looks centered on the clasp too, and ARF bracelet is the best vintage option you can find (better than a 300€ Italian bracelet).

It’s just a bit of a disappointment as I thought this RAF16610 was a new watch.

I should have mine tomorrow! Fingers crossed.

Make sure you choose the right dealer if you take the plunge. You dont wanna get a bad batch of "RAF"

@StreetFighter I thought the same things about the chamfers, but I think its an illusion from the protective stickers.

The bracelet is better thank I thought, hasn't got the chamfered sides of the links that the old one had. What is the clasp code?
The date font some may say is too bold but the 2010 16610 I had recently was bold just like that.
Yeah, it has a few flaws but it looks good enough. Enjoy.
