Isn't the shock absorber on the balance jewel totally wrong for both the Cortebert and 616?

My understanding is that the 618 is the one with the shock absorber, plus there is the extra jewel on the centre.

616 is 15 jewel and 618 is 17 jewel.

Yeah but isn't the shock absorber wrong? It looks like the Chinese kind with a faux surround to me. Mind you I'm far from an expert in these.

Looks like a Rolex ,not a Cortebert. Fab Suisse, good engravings. Either a nice rep build or a 6154. Seller looks sketchier than the watch.

The case looks like it's been reshaped. Take a look at the lug hole in the underside of the lug at 11 o'clock. Doesn't appear to be much metal remaining.

Yes but look at the shock absorber!

Not even close! That's a modern shock absorber clip on there.

Don't think so - Molnija 3601 has different bridge shape. More like a Cortebert 618 trying to look like a Rolex cal. 618/type 3??

I don't know what it is but AFIK neither the Rolex or the Cortebert have a shock absorber that looks anything like that one.

I am far from an expert on these movements as well, but I have seen some 618 with incabloc absorber.
Here is an interesting read: http://www.watchprosite.com/?page=wf.forumpost&fi=717&ti=463631&pi=2779481

Dial looks legit or one of the very best I have ever seen. Fat indices and that cracked patina don't show up very often even on HF.
Hands and case are not very convincing instead. Maybe it is a high end build, but I can not be 100% sure.

Certainly too sketchy to consider off da bay. Maybe one of the big name guys from the gen PAM scene could shed some light on the serial

Trailboss did you not know Swaziland was one of the major manufacturing sites for Rolex/Panerai watches during the 40's?
