Quick Review of ZZF New 114060 No Date Submariner VS Gen

Why didn‘t they use A2824 instead of A2836?
A2824 allows a more gen-like crown height doesn‘t it? That‘s why ARF uses it in its Subs I thought.

Does the ZZF V2 116610 with VR3135 have the correct crown position? Anybody knows?

The 2824 also has the wrong crown height, even in subs.

The ZZF V2 116610LN has the correct crown position as it uses a clone movement. You can see the pictures posted by Jtime in this thread.

Finally got mine after an extended wait due to various issues...

Some quick points from my perspective (a lot of this has already been mentioned).

Bezel insert pearl is wrong color. Insert itself is pretty good. Bezel clicks are louder than gen but feels good. Bezel teeth are sharper than gen.

Rehaut engraving is a little off and can’t adjust it because it’s not engraved with the correct spacing, if I line the crown up with 12 the engraving alignment on the 9 o’clock side will be even worse. At a distance the rehaut engraving looks like gen except for alignment, it doesn’t bother me, no one will look at my watch that close, no one cares anyway.

SEL is good but not perfect, could be fixed with ARF bracelet. The SEL on the 12 o’clock side has some incorrect brushing direction on my particular bracelet, I don’t know if this is typical. If you look close you can see that the first link on the bracelet after the SEL is uneven, it’s closer to one side of the case than the other. Clasp isn’t good, it just barely grabs when you close it, might be fixed with ARF clasp but I’m not sure as I’ve never had an ARF. Bracelet itself feels pretty good to me.

CG shape is off (we all know this). Corners of the case are sharper than gen. Crown/tube threads feel good, crown secures very positively, very similar to gen if not identical.

Lume is very good imo.

Overall at arms distance it’s a great rep and imo the best no date right now. But I’m no expert.

That’s all I can think of right now.

Is it common knowledge that the 2836 version maintains the date function? It has the date and time crown positions and you can hear the date mechanism click when setting the time.

I have to admit that the 114060 ZZF V2 is an amazing rep but the bezel is really crap.. has shap edges and cuts your fingers.. here some pics in its supposed natural environment ... the only problem after 2 days wear in salty air (did not plunge it into water) the bracelet felt so hard that I could not open the clasp anymore... Chinese quality

I would yes, because imho it’s the best 114060 rep out there. Compared to noobs bracelets this one is a step over but I believe that the screws used for the bracelet are of very cheap quality and they rust in salty environment. My bracelet literally felt like an AP Royal Oak bracelet you could not bend.

As crazy as it may sound, it never hurts to treat a stainless steel bracelet with a little WD-40.

IMHO I think the biggest issue of this watch is the non alinged rehaut engraving. The rest of it looks very good and it might be worth to give it a try.

I have the V1 and honestly it's perfect OOTB : nice insert, great dial with a very light indentation (I read some series have a too deep one), movement runs great and bracelet feels better than on my ZZF Hulk V2S.
On the con's, the engraving on the rehaut is a tad bit off centered and the lume on the hands has a very light yellowish color in bright natural light, but it's nothing i'd call flaws.
Great watch.

Great watch indeed I have both the V2 date and no date and enjoy them every day. Haven't given a try with the date yet but no date has survived swimming and SUP boarding both in the sea on several occasions.

Anchor pad for the CB gasket and I applied OKS universal silicon to the crown and tube gaskets.
