I suppose the natural progression of the replica market will continue to make improvements, to minimize errors and get details closer to the genuine article. That's fair enough and all fine and good, but at some point I do warrant a replica 'good enough', and I don't care how much 'closer' it gets to the real thing; the craftsmanship and performance and value will NEVER equal the original. I know it's a faux-pas to come into a community and tell them they're crazy, but some of you all are seriously illogical.

The LeMans Daytona was discontinued by Rolex, so there are very few even available in the world. Plus it costs like $250,000, so you're not fooling anyone else wearing one. But even if you said you're not trying to fool anyone else, you just like the look, you can buy the look now via CF. It's a perfectly good replica, it's so good in fact that that you all obsess over the smallest of details under microscope lenses (because there are very few glaringly obvious details to worry about).

But even so, you want to pretend that your replica Rolex is real, that your Chinese movement is Swiss engineered, that your steel case and bracelet is precious white gold because it has added weight. The level of excitement over advances in the cognitive dissonance to convince yourself that your $400 replica is giving you the same feels as someone with a quarter Mil real thing is crazy. I don't know what kind of mental you have to be, but again if you aren't fooling anyone else, and you aren't fooling yourself, what is the point? Do you also watch porn and imagine that you're having a wild sex life?

I'm new here, so I haven't been drinking the kool-aid that long, and maybe hearing from someone outside the echo-chamber is a Debbie Downer, but from my perspective the obsession over adding weight to your wrist to make believe your steel timepiece is gold is next level delusion.

This is your opinion, and you're entitled to it.
The level of excitement over advances in the cognitive dissonance to convince yourself that your $400 replica is giving you the same feels as someone with a quarter Mil real thing is crazy.
We got ourselves a proper Mark H. Twain here. Who said it's to convince oneself? This is your interpretation and you make a mistake in surmising and generalizing.
Do you also watch porn and imagine that you're having a wild sex life?
Again, you're making assumptions, vulgar ones at that. After your elaborate wording that, in my opinion, is aimed at impressing the audience and flavoured with a pinch of arrogance, this is pretty lowest shelf.
but from my perspective the obsession over adding weight to your wrist to make believe your steel timepiece is gold is next level delusion.
As I said, arrogant and borderline offensive.
yet the level of exuberance for the more weight on your wrist to head-fake you into feeling closer to something it isn't is just autofellatio to stroke your ego.
Arrogant and borderline offensive.

I've found the best way of dealing with zealots isn't to double down and get into an argument online with them, it's to just add them to the ignore list.
So you're accusing members here to be zealots, when actually it's your holier-than-thou attitude that will land you on the ignore list of a lot of members.

I'm not a nitpicker, at all, I don't care about flaws that will make many members here reject a watch. But I respect the attention to detail because it's their reports and their experience that help me to make a more informed decision on my next buy.
Have you considered for a moment that all the nitpicking is aimed not at "fooling" someone, but just because you feel happier having a heavy watch? Have you considered the fact that you will always be fooling someone wearing a replica, be it a 20$ canal street shitter or several thousand franken watch, making your whole argument inane?

You could have started a civil discussion "inter pares" on the different motivations of wearing replicas, instead you barge in accusing others to have inflated egos where the only one demonstrating this trait is you. You called us crazy, delusional, masturbators, zealots. Some may find it offensive.

I'll repeat it, you are entitled to your opinion. I think it would be far better for you and the community if this was expressed without that level of disdain for the rest of us.

what I'm reading here is nothing more than pathetic, passive-aggressive self-righteousness from a person who took the trouble to register on a replica forum and share his high horse guided mind by some kind of complex..

Don't feed the troll.

BTW: Where can I post my request for an "hide postings of this member"-button? Ideally combined with a generic filter on any "TD scammed me"-thread of newly registered members.

My heart sank when I first read that troll, staring down at my heavy plated watch thinking maybe he’s right. I took it off and wandered towards the bin. Let’s start saving I told myself. Then lo and behold, by the time I got caught up on other comments realised it’s that guy who’s insane, not me. I put it back on the wrist ( struggling due to the weight ) and I’m now happily flashing it around the office. I reckon everyone I walk past is impressed and if they’re not they should be! Don’t stop enjoying those reps
