Unfortunately, this is correct, but it only shows that QF is in the wrong league in terms of price. There would certainly be a market for mid-tier Daytonas, but then the watches should also be offered at a mid-tier price. In my opinion, 700 or 1k with tungsten is simply too much for this watch. And it turns out that the customers (both us "long noses" and the Chinese themselves) are no longer going along with this. AP and ZF have already massively lowered their original prices and the sparrows are whistling from the Cantonese rooftops that BT and APS might get out of the Daytona business altogether.
Clean is already charging far too high prices, but we have grumbled and resigned ourselves to it because the quality is also very good. The fact that the other factories are basing their prices on Clean without delivering the same quality will hopefully break their backs ... or at least force them to set more realistic prices.
