I went for the 'gen' croc option .... not sure whether I like the tapered from 27mm to 20mm , quality is great though :)

Is it really a gen croc or just another thing made up by some dealers to get more money?

@ Sharrkey
Definitely a step up from what i'm used to from a 'out-of-the-box' rep ...
My biggest concern is the winding stem ( crown can not be completely screwed in ), it's too long , an issue which I've seen with others ( all ?? ) ...
You also wind the movement whilst doing this , so it will need some adjusting from domi ;)
Other than that, great , hope yours will arrive soon !!

Compared to my genuine croc strap, it feels like the real deal, whether it's worth the extra dough, ... hmmm , let me think on that one ;)

Yeh i've read that few times, did you get yours from Lay? And did he waterproof it to 30m? As he assured me that mine had been waterproofed to 30m, and i cant see how mine would pass a 3 atm test if the crown could not be fully screwed in:thinking:

Yes, mine is from Lay as well, and it's been waterproofed to 30m according to Lay ...
Not going to swim/shower with it, it needs some TLC from domi first :)

If you get a chance Mambo can u post a pic of the problem with the crown not screwing in fully, not sure how it can be fully waterproofed to 3atm if the crown will not fully go in, but i'm no expert, hopefully someone who knows best might chime in and give their opinion.

I have a H18 submarine buckle for my Pam 127, will definitely have a look at the straps , looks great , thanks ....

I tried to take a picture of the stem issue, not sure it's clear enough ( taken with my mobile phone , do not have anything decent lying around )
You're talking about a maximum 'gap' of approximately 1 mm ...

I can barely detect the gap between the crown and and case on mine. It allows for several full turns on the threads, however, so there's no way water is getting in there.

In my experience, the chrono pushers are much more likely to leak but it's no different than any other watch I have owned (gen/rep) without screw-down collars for the chrono pushers.

I'm never ordering another rep again in Dec.
:picard2::picard2::picard2:

I bet if I ordered something new today it would get here before my 288:thinking:

Thanks, ...
The waiting can be very frustrating at times, my other order is still stuck, like yours ...
I think it will be wise not to order in December any-more like sharkkey mentioned :(

Decided the tapered ( 26mm->20mm ) croc strap isn't my thing ...
I still had a unused toshi 26mm strap lying around, put that one on, what do you guys think ??
Though I also like the one from Heroic18 sharkkey suggested :thinking:
Are you going to get that one once you have your 288 ???

Looks the part Mambo, how does the 26mm fill the lugs? Still undecided on a strap myself, i've sent Orloff a couple of messages, as i'm interested in his 27/20mm croc, but hes still to reply.
Heroic18 straps do look the part, and look to be of excellent workmanship..
Btw what r u going to do with ur Gen croc?

26mm fills the lugs pretty nicely actually, ..
I'm keeping the gen croc for a more sophisticated gen-like look ;)

Nope not moved at all, sad but true, it's guaranteed that the north face jacket I ordered yesterday will arrive before it too.

Still no sign of your 288 ?? :facepalm:
