in many cases you are paying more for the case set as well...the cheaper movement versions often have a crappier case set (dial, case, band etc).
there are some 21j gems out there that are a great value but the higher end versions with clone movements are generally a better more accurate watch
agreed, and it't really hard to tell which 21j's are "gems" and which ones aren't without actually seeing them in person. When in doubt, I always go for the clone.
I also like the smoother sweep. It's a very subtle difference. I know I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference from more than a few feet away, let alone on someone else's moving wrist, but when I examine my personal watches closely, I like seeing the smoother sweep. Worth the money IMO...
Very true, but you can also get that sound from the 7750's.
It's a lottery.
I'm pretty much done with 7750 movements, especially the chronograph movements. It's not that I've found them that much less reliable than the simpler movements. It's just that when something DOES go wrong, it's a royal pain to get fixed---->2836= send to katt, get back better than ever in a week, 7750= spend 3 days looking for someone to work on it, ship it, wait 3-6 months, and MAYBE it will work...
