This market is insane. The 6007a is a nice watch but it’s not $80k+ nice.

As someone relatively new to the watch world (interest started 4 years ago), are these insane prices new to the watch world or has it always been like this?

Yes these insaneprices are new. 5.years ago you could buy a 5711 at retail as a first time client at an AD.

Dude five years ago patek couldn’t give away 5167s and a 5726 second hand was 23k! Now platinum Daytona’s are going for 120k and tuti frutis for 100+k too. Are people actually buying these? I see so many sellers on eBay and chrono increase prices on pieces that have been sitting for months.

One dealer in Florida has had a white gold nautilus on strap for four years. Originally priced on their eBay at 39k now they’re asking 76 for a watch that hasn’t moved. Wtf.

see thats just it. 5711 which is a 33k watch is now 100k or 120k for blue face. but was on the market for 60k is anyone buying now....i'm guessing not. you can ask for any number your want if you have the watch....doesn't mean i'm buying. everything is out of whack on all of it.

Rep looks like a teal/turquoise to me whereas the gen looks like a light blue/ocean blue.
Damn shame, I feel like this would’ve been a rep that could’ve easily become a superrep given it’s one of the few Calatravas that isn’t made of precious metal.

Thanks, yess I see it now. Found a watchbox review and now it’s obvious, rep’s blue is way too light blue. But could I live with it? -difficult as once seen cannot be unseen

dial on 3k is off. its a speckle finish. the dial part where the numerals sit is a circular sunburst finish. and that finished is carried through out the whole dial. it needs sunburst.
the strap is like tweed....its not close to gen strap.
dial color will always be subjective due to lighting, aperture, etc.
so i'm a little less worried about dial color due to lighting conditions. be it gen or rep....the color is gonna shift its sunburst.

The strap definitely looks more grey than blue but the dial does look improved. Perhaps the lighting is playing a role here but it looks a touch too grey.
