PP 324 ACE/VSV clone movement question

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any experience with the PP 324 ACE/VSV clone movement? Specifically, has anyone bought or serviced this so-called superclone movement that costs around $2k? I’d really appreciate any insights, as I couldn’t find much solid information online—mostly just rumors, even after searching RWI thoroughly with google. I’m considering getting one, but would love some input first. Thanks!

I won't take the bait

This is my last resort, I have googled with other rep forums desperately even the shitty Reddit but can't find shit about this movement. I might eventually have to get one for my 5711 but I can't just buy it without any actionable intel. I have already spent 2k on this motha effing rep and the 3kf movement is not the best movement I've ever seen. If I have to drop another 2k on it, I have to make damn sure this is gonna work.

I wouldn't call it a clone, not nearly a clone, most of the parts just look similar but with different sizes and gear ratios. Mine screwed up a couple of hours right after I unbox it, been fixed by the TD but still with like +- 40+ sec per day and crazy beat errors when it is not fully wound. That drives me nuts.

I haven't seen any of those on the market, or they are hidden and only made available to watchmakers and modders. The best bet is getting a second-hand obsolete Calatrava 6007a and taking the movement from it. So 50k plus.

I dont think anyone sells the gen movement at 5k unless something is wrong with it.

If you are going that route their are other Calatrava models that is not 50k+ that has 324 movements.

I still think $50k for a calatrava is highway and super market robbery. That thing shouldn’t have costed more than $20k tops

I couldn't agree more. But then when a 5711 which PP only selling for 35k can go up to almost 90k today, chances are it is a mercy kill if you can get it for 50k.

TBH I've been on the 5711 waiting list for years until it was discontinued, then I turned to the rep market. I can just get one from any reseller for about 85k but I am hesitant. I am ok letting our TDs and modders earn something because they deserve to earn it, but just can't stand those people earning more than PP did.

I agree. If my modder told me the ACE movement was reliable I would have went for it.. Still I am interested with others who have actual experience with this movement.

A trusted dealer also told me his team can modify the super clone PPM 324 to a real free sprung and have it look 99% gen.
