Can experts advice that if it’s possible for me to build up a 4030 movement on zenith el’s movement? If lets say i have a franken with some modify parts to fit gen hands and dial.
Hi,
I have a franken noob 116520 with gen dial, hands, and bezel. I finally got hold of a gen case. Is it a simple task to swap the noob case with the gen one? Does it need any modification on the sa4130 movement or the case ring?
Yes it is a straight swap, and please let me know when you're ready to sell the noob case - I'll take it

I will keep an eye out for when you want to sell this.Yingfu Mark1937
The case was modified by myself. I used a miny improvised lapping setup to be able to reshape the top part of the lugs. The sides were also modified using the same lapping technique.
The case is pretty close to the real deal in my opinion. Check my 116520 dial thread. I've posted some comparison pics on the latest posts.
For anybody curious if the Gen markers are a straight fit or not, they aren't, feet need to be shaved and markers need to be glued in place
I can't mod other peoples cases cause I don't have time to do it anymore but I may part with this piece eventually.
It's not that obvious what the diff are between the Gen and noob case but once you get familiarized with the Gen case you'll be able to tell what needs to be modified.
Hope this helps
Thank you, and good to know it's a straight swap. I just hope my watchmaker won't charge me too much claiming he has to modify this and that. The noob case is not in pristine condition, but I will send you the pic after it returns from the watchmaker for you to decide.
That's ok. I've reshaped, polished and brushed several now including removing the rehaut. It's a fun break from studying, just leaves me coughing for days afterwards! Looking forward to seeing your masterpiece!

I got it back from my watch guy who insisted it's not a gen case and he had to work on several parts of the case to make it work. Here are the pics. I don't have the noob case with me yet. I will pm you the pic when I have it.
