Is that a bezel gap between 0-5 mins? Sounds very, very disappointing! Sorry to hear! If it's any consolation - the watch does look good, if not completely GEN-like.
Thanks bro... yeah when I bought the case expecting 1:1, I was expecting to be able to change gen parts plug and play style. When finding out that isn't the case was extremely disappointing.

Have you measured the insert? I have an absolutely bona fide thin font service insert that has not be shaved in any way, shape or form and it measures small (0.20-0.25mm) on the OD and won't snap fit into a GEN or GEN-spec bezel. They're not easy to find but there are threads that talk of 36.3mm inserts but no one seems to know why. Some suggested there were service bezels for the 1680 that used the slightly smaller insert. Though it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You get some being sold in places like ebay that also measure 36.3mm as well. Just a thought.

Mine was a 5512 service insert I purchased in a blister pack unopened

Yeah, so my 'small' one is 36.3mm, GEN Rolex, but every other one I own is almost bang on the 'correct' 36.55mm. And I own 6 or maybe more.

Very strange, all very strange. The 5513s I have bought blistered, serif and non-serif, are also 36.55mm. Just the one outlier.

GEN 36.3mm inserts appears to be a real thing then but... why?

Lovely thread Pom!
I have the same dial with tritium, always thought it was a service dial in the early days but after some reading it looks they are factory fitted on the ref 94110 from 1982.

High end build coming soon😁

You've just given me a thought... I went back and checked the pics, never thought to look before...

Pom's is a "Prince Oysterdate" (below the Tudor and shield), whereas you'll notice mine is just "Prince Date", which is what indicates a service dial.

If Pom's is luminova, I'd still think that was service, albeit an 'earlier' service version vs. mine, which is a modern service dial.

For me, yeah, a tritium version of the dial would just be... a dial i.e. non-service and later 94110 if it has the last font style on the depth rating.

Look forward to your build!

Thank you I got it in a trade but since I worked on it to straighten out the dial and tighten it down going to be adding a d19 crystal from superdome

I do not have a Superdome T19 but I used a Superdome T39 on this build. I think it gives a 9411 (or any other date watch) a unique look and the crystal was top quality (for $300 bucks it should be!). It fit without any mods to the case or retaining ring and passes a pressure test.

Wow, so there are 3 different dials for the ref 9411!
Never seen it untill now👍
I guess it is the most rare dial version.

I'd think mine was the most rare as no one wants them in their GEN watches 🤣

I think I found one 'complete' watch for sale with that dial. Thought it must be fake at first.

Think my service dial is too obviously not period-correct with the different text, so would be considered to devalue the watch, I suspect

Shame the paint used on early 9411s was so rubbish and bubbled and peeled so easily!

There must be a few 'versions', the sort of 'standard' depth differences between the early 9411 and later 94110 Zubmariner, then lumi like Pom's, then late service like mine.

Looks great! It's not a look I have fancied trying but I do keep an eye on GEN Service T39s, which seem to go around a similar price, if not a bit less than the TD39. The TD pricing always surprises me a bit. I know they are 'the best' REP of the original profiles but I bought a GEN blistered service T19 (ok, so a different profile) for ~$100 and a used GEN T19 for ~$100, which do seem much better 'value'. It's why a Sternkreuz for ~$20 seems exceptional, really and Clark's for even less.
