What a beautiful piece bro, I knew you would get it sorted. I think this is the best model Milgauss Rolex made - the 6 digit black dial clear crystal, I just love it. It's simple and unique with a flash of lightning and color. A real classic and yours is so well done. Congrats!

I agree, it's the best I've seen without any of the biggest tells just jumping out. I don't have a trained eye by any means, but that might as well be gen. Immense

I had originally put this together but can’t take credit for the finished product. Mike at NY watch got the movement done and gen hands put on.

Welcome to the Milgauss "gen-hand" gang!!
It definitely feels better and more complete to have gen hands in the watch.

I found another set of gen milgauss dial/ hands at home and decided to build another one. Without the guesswork, it only took 1 afternoon to modify the movement and assemble the watch.

Build specs
- Gen dial (excellent condition)
- Gen hands (excellent condition)
- GMF Milgauss 116400 with VR3131 movement (latest batch with better rehaut engravings, but the case is engraved as "126900". BP/ GMF might uses the same basic cases with minor modifications for 116400, 116900, and 126900).
- Aftermarket Swiss 3155-280 hour wheel
- VR3186 donor movement
- Clean factory 214270 sapphire crystal and gasket

Mods
- Converting the stock VR3131 movement (by swapping in the seconds wheel, cannon pinion, and hour wheel washer spring from a VR3186. Then I swapped in an aftermarket Swiss 3155-280 hour wheel).
- Shaving the crystal gasket
- Assembling the watch/ regulating the movement

After the conversion was done:

Notice a huge difference between the gen and the clean crystal?

I’ve got a vsf on mine and I can’t believe how good it is honestly.

Vsf milgauss 116400 with green crystal?

I find that the vsf milgauss 116400's green crystal is too tinted with green coating (although i haven't compared it extensively to gen).

For example, looking at the vsf milgauss 116400's green crystal from the side and at an angle would show blurriness and tintedness. I think the gen milgauss crystal has less tint and more clarity, from memory. Someone could confirm this.

No no I mean on this one, I don’t have high hopes for the green version honestly.
