Firstly, this announcement is to inform membership that we will be using a different process for upgrading to Supporter ($35) & Patron ($100) status. We will no longer be using Paypal invoices, rather, you will be directed to a website to use your credit or debit card. We will no longer be using Paypal.
To become a Supporter or Patron, please PM @trailboss99.
!!!!! When signing up on the new website it will ask for “Forum Name” YOU MUST USE YOUR EXACT RWI FORUM NAME IN ORDER FOR US TO UPDATE YOU HERE ON RWI AFTER YOUR PURCHASE. Failing to use your exact forum name will delay the updating process for you. !!!!!
Supporter & Patron members will be given the option to receive a new service called “Certified” for FREE. This option is presented on the same website inside the profile page about 1-2 minutes after completing their supporter/patron purchase. Again, Supporters & Patron receive this option for FREE.
What is “Certified”? Certified is an identity verification process that our vendor provides which is fully automated and conducted solely by you on our vendors platform after the supporter/patron upgrade process. After becoming “Certified” you will maintain your certified status for 2 YEARS. Supporter and Patron statuses expire after 1 year as always.
CERTIFIED IS OPTIONAL BUT WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL MEMBER TO MEMBER SALES ON RWI AFTER AUGUST 31. This means that you can be a Supporter or Patron without having to become certified, you just won’t be able to sell anything in M2M.
Certified can be purchased for only $15 if you do not want to be a Supporter or Patron (who receives it for free).
As you know, last year and the first quarter of this year were very bad for RWI in terms of the number of scams run in our sales area. Everyone has been amazing at preventing so many scams before they even happened. Thankfully the second quarter of this year has been relatively quiet.
Never has it been a question if we do enough because you guys only see the tip of the iceberg on all we do to try to prevent scams however, I had to ask myself if we can do more. Is there something greater that is outside of our personal capabilities that may help us deter scammers?
We have contracted with a world leader in identity processing. The service works with your cell phone and scans the front and back of your ID, then will take a photo of you. It intelligently analyzes your ID to determine if it is legit and then examines the photo it takes of your face to determine if you are trying to deceive the process.
Before forming an opinion on this, consider what you currently give to strangers in China on sketchy hosted websites with credit card processers that we would never use in our real life businesses. You provide your real name, your current address (yeah, there are a couple of you who are paranoid and use something else), your real credit card number, Paypal, western union, wise, etc.. all of which is easily tracked back to you, and God only knows where this info is stored.
I understand that some of you may be reluctant at first, have opinions on parts or all of it, and have feelings on the effects of this new process. I respect how you feel but please understand that I feel this is completely necessary for us to say that we truly are trying everything possible protect our members. Is it perfect, no, is it fool proof, no, but it's really good and a lot better than what little we can do now. It does not guarantee that someone wont get scammed but this is a major step in the right direction to make sure we are dealing with legit people.
There are places where in order to be able to sell, you have to give a selfie of yourself holding your ID. This info is likely stored in some dudes email as well as his personal computer. WE WILL NEVER STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFO ON RWI, IN AN EMAIL, ON A PC, ETC. Your info will remain with the ID service provider on their secured servers and will only be accessible by @trailboss99 or I. YOUR PERSONAL INFO WILL NEVER BE ASSOCIATED WITH RWI AND WILL NEVER BE STORED ON RWI OR ITS SERVERS.

- This service will verify the ID's in over 100 countries.
- "Certified" will be free when you sign-up or renew your supporter or patron status, and we are not increasing those fees.
- We will not store any identification images on our servers. They all stay on our vendor, and can only be accessed by @trailboss99 and myself.
I live and breathe data security, PCI, & HIPAA compliance / security on a daily basis. This company is rock solid in protecting data. - While Supporter and Patron status lasts 1 year, once you certify, your "Certified" status will last for 2 years before you have to re-certify.
- We will have banner layering meaning users will have more than one banner displayed. For example, a supporter can have the “Supporter” banner and “Certified” banner displaying at the same time. Permissions in the sales area will eventually be locked down so that only a certified member can post a new thread.
- Members can choose to purchase only the ID verification to achieve "Certified" status for $15 if they do not want to spend the extra to be a supporter or Patron.
- This will positively impact the info required for HVS, reducing, or eliminating a great deal of that.
