Just curious, what is the camera gear you guys use? here's my current digital list. not listing the 35mm equipment.

Canon XT black body.
Lenses
canon 18-55mm .
canon 50mm f1.4 Mark 1 prime (I love this lens. So fast)
Sigma 28-210mm nice reach out and touch some one.
Sigma 10-20mm wiiiide angle. very nice wide angle.

flashes
canon 420ez throwback from the 35mm days. still a work horse.
Canon 580ex. just got it. all I can say is wow.

forgot to ad bags,
Tamrac Velocity 7
Tamrac Velocity 5 (smaller)
forgot the name but bigass backpack for camera gear and laptop. (this sucker holds everything)

For any question about cameras this Place (DPreview) has a unbelievable amount of info.

later I'll post pics of my older camera collection. I'll show you my nikon Ftb twins.

Seriously? :?
you don't know?
ok, there's this modded firmware made by undutchables. pretty much turns your 300d to a d10 without the rez upgrade of course. here's the link:
http://www.gpi.dk/300d/
the site is 90% dutch and 10% english. have fun.

P.s: go here and lurk around for a while. A lot to learn there.

Seriously, this is news to me. I'm going to read through the installation instructions VERY carefully tomorrow.

Have you done this or know anybody who has?

Thanks for the tip.

Of course I've done this, I did the 1st wassia hack then the undutchables v .1 and 0.23 etc. works like a charm. it installs a set of custom options for the 300d effectively turning it into the 10d. It Is a Stable fix. you have to try really hard to fuck it up. so dont!

Hasselblad H1 - Kodak ProBack (16mp) and Phase One P25 (22 mp) - just sold - hoping to upgrade to a P45 soon. 35, 80, 150mm lenses.

Mamiya 645 AFD - Kodak ProBack (16mp) - 35, 45, 80, 55-110 Lenses

Had a couple Kodak 14's - with (almost) every lens Nikon made from 14-300 (14, 16, 20, 28, 28PC, 35PC, 50, 60, 85, 105, 135, 17-35, 20-35, 80-200, 300). All of this has been recently sold, too. Might upgrade to Canon 5D, not sure yet.

And then there is the large format stuff - what check cashing pro's use to shoot watches. I have 4x5's and an 8x10 camera.

All of the digital goes thru Capture One, Photodesk (if I need it)

But for here I use my girlfriends Canon SD300.

I am just here for the ride.

Goddamn rbarr. you must have a couple hundred grand invested in that gear. talk about fancy, I love the Hasselblads but could not afford them. I still have my 1st pinhole camera I made when I was 8. :D
I have capture one, never really got into it though. Photoshop for me. just a like to be able to shoot a decent pic with my semi-pro gear. :D

Cheers,

Cheers,

Yeah, waaaay too much, especially when you factor in depreciation. My first digital camera/back combo was $33,000 when I got it a lifetime ago (Hasselblad 555ELD and ProBack - I sold that for about $6k) And I didn't even list the lights I have (Broncolors, Elinchroms, KinoFlos, Comets). But there is a good rental market - which I do when I am not shooting with it - I tech jobs and rent out my stuff to pros I know who don't have the 200k to drop on gear. Plus I took the time to learn the software - who the hell wants to do that?

But I gotta be honest - there are some great shots on here from a lot less expensive cameras. I leave my work at work and the the resident pro's here do the shooting. :D

I'd rather talk about pinhole cameras!

I'd still be plugging in and firing up my Hasselblad as the birds flew by. :x

Yeah, but the photo of the building over the road without pigeons in front of it would be stunning. :D
(photo taken in the plaza in front of Notre Dame, Paris)

This was taken in Lisbon with my regular camera:

I used to carry a Ricoh GR1 film camera in my side pocket - and I got some of my most prized shots with it - especially when filled with film rated at 25000ISO - surveillance film. Thats what I miss in a digital point and shoot - good, fast, FIXED WIDE lens.

Now lets see some 100% crops from a 36x48 inch print. (Thats where the Hasselblad shines)
