Finally received my 127 today from the new batch (QC pics were posted in post #8 in this thread, it was held up in customs a while).

Unfortunately, I am not happy with the crystal. I'll have to see if I can take some pics that capture it. So anyway, it seems like the quality on this batch is indeed hit-and-miss.

I am now trying to figure out what I'm to do with this piece. Thought about contacting PT to see if I could exchange it for either another 127 or something else I want.

The crystal does have noticeable distortion, but how's the AR? It looks good from the qc pics.

AR seems fine, but I don't have a great point of reference on this model.

I have now spent entirely too much time looking at pictures and videos of both rep and gen PAM127's. I now believe that my crystal is no worse than those posted by Ryan, and from the early batches of these reps before the quality problem arose.

I have taken an HD video to help demonstrate:

So I think we can say that is is once again safe to have confidence in ordering this rep, though people should still pay attention to their QC pics.

With all of the time spent, however, I see now why I thought there was a problem. I believe the crystal shape (though the same as early batches) is not quite gen-like. On the gen, the crystal has a more gradual taper that nearly matches that of the bezel. The rep has a steeper transition to the top of the crystal. See below.
