Yeah, I guess I did miss to mention the hazards of putting watch movements near magnets.

seagull movement is out. About $30 cheaper.

Hmmm on a closed caseback I dont think it matters but I dont know which movement to order now. In the past my ST movement worked beautiful so might just go with the cheaper movement

Made the same conclusion a few month back between ST and A7750. With all the PAM I had with P9000 like movement, I had issues with A7750 and with ST25.
A7750 can be repaired due to part availability and ST25 with movement changing (movement cost is around 50$).

On the last ST25, I had to buy 2 ST25 due to issues that cannot be resolved... So at the end the A7750 is perhaps not a bad option.

^ Its about the same plus its hard to find anyone who will service a 7750 even if its a non chrono not to mention a 7750 service will be $200 or so. With a ST you can just swap a new movement and be done with it. Seagull are quite good and they are a legit company so you should get warranty on new movement no?

One thing I found out at RG, the PAM661 most likely has faux lug holes. You can't get at them with the usual process like with the PAM616. You have to use a springbar tool (or a properly dressed screwdriver) to release the springbars to be able to change straps.

that would explain I couldn't do it with paper clip from the outside... :)

Imagine if you tried to force it. But in hindsight, the factory or more importantly the dealers should have made that clarification.

There is no actual hole. It is plugged midway. You have to remove the springbar from the inside of the lugs.

Not easy one

If you have a springbar tool (or a dressed screwdriver), you can remove the springbar. The strap being leather has some "give" so you can push it to the side.

I don't understand why makers and dealers have not made a warning. This is unacceptable, many people will broke the lugs trying to remove the bars from the outside

Is it possible to drill holes all the way thru?

It is possible, but there is no way of telling how the material will react when drilled. Worst case, the lug will break. Just use a springbar tool.

Just might have to pull the trigger here. Main hiccup is how a 44 x 17 watch works on a 6.75" wrist...
