The KW 389 pearl is significantly domed (as is the 382). The gen pearl is slightly domed and since the domed pearl on the KW is more pronounced it can be an easy tell. Polonus took some material off the pearl with a dremel like tool took flatten it with pretty great results.

Will be interesting to see how things progress with KW/V6 as the pearl on the 569 is stellar based on initial pics. Not sure if any modders out there can rebuild PAM pearls to gen spec. I've reached out to a few with no success.

As for your eyes...can't help you there [emoji16]

I used very cheap multi purpose tool. Felt bits were bought separately - so it is a standard.

Great mod because the pearl is an easy tell. [emoji106]

The OP saying that he thought the felt tip would matte it while flattening it down makes me think… Could a felt dermal tip maybe matte down a PVD/DLC case after a cape cod treatment? Hmmm…

Hey there! I have a 571 with glossy pearl. Looks like there is a layer of lacquer on it. Will I be able to matte out the gloss you reckon?

I tried the felt tip dremel tool DIY and I think I might have gone a little too deep. Am thinking if I could refill it slightly with clear enamel? Will the tamiya ones work?

I relumed my 382 pearl with a mix of 2 part epoxy and a little bit of white humbrol enamel paint. I even put in a bit of white/green lume powder. I just mixed it up well and applied some with a toothpick and allowed it to flow and fill up the pearl "cup." I removed the old pearl first
